Did they ever make a Dragon Riders of Pern movie?

It was a popular series of books about 40 years ago.

the quick- Planet Pern, hero Jaxom , pilots mighty dragons. They must burn the giant wyrmms falling from the sky with dragon breath. Before the wyrmms destroy the planet like a virus that falls from above. I believe from a rogue sun?

Warner planned a film adaption in 2014 but it's a dead end after that.

A simple Google search would have brought you this information quicker than a forum thread.

I'm a sci-fi nerd. And one book series I'd like to see made into a movie (or series of movies) would be the Dragonriders of Pern. There's certainly enough book material that could be made into numerous movies. So why hasn't it been done yet?
