Default The Asylum Mockbusters On Blu-Ray

A thread for The Asylum's mockbusters. (because why not?)

Abraham Lincoln vs Zombies was a fun movie. Any highlights from this collection that people recommend?

You might as well include The Asylum's other blu-rays, because, why not?

have to admit that i liked some of these movies. you didn't list the American release that features THOR/JOHN CARTER/SINBAD or DAY THE EARTH STOPPED / WAR OF THE WORLDS 2.

as for recommendations well of course as long as you understand what you are getting into. ie less that stellar fx and acting etc

DAY THE EARTH STOPPED - actually not a bad movie at all better than the average asylum fare

JOHN CARTER OF MARS (aka PRINCESS OF MARS) again actually pretty good for what it is. the movie keeps things on a far less epic level but still keeps the essence of the story.

ATTACK FROM BENEATH ok it's no Pacific Rim that's for sure. it does feature a few cool ideas that can't be fully supported by the spfx. acting in this one is at times bad and the plot gets dumb occasionally. still its fun and worth a watch.

I AM OMEGA B- grade movie for sure but entertaining for simplistic plot.

ABRAHAM LINCOLN VS ZOMBIES this is grade A cheez for sure. just plain good stupid fun.

i haven't seen all of the movies but can say that the THOR one really sucks bad.

You might want to add Age Of Dinosaurs for being a Jurassic Park / Carnosaur RIP off.

Is The Asylum still in business?

A number of their USA films and releases are missing
from your op.

These two films have 3-D editions. True, they may not
be very good films, but to The Asylum's credit, the
stereoscopic photography is authentic and professional.
In other words, good 3-D:

Yes, very much so. Though they're mainly streaming now. A few of their films get a DVD release in the US (The Exorcists, their mock of Believer, comes out next week) but it's not like it used to be.

Sharktopus had to rip off something.
Oh wait, that's not even Asylum? How can it not be Asylum?

Hardly a mockbuster. Roger Corman produced and
directed a lot of classy films, important films, and
he had a profound impact on the film industry. He
turned the independent horror film into an thriving
business. He's a hero to independent filmmakers.
Give him his due.

He produced a lot of rip-offs too, cashing in on the latest Hollywood hits. All better than anything from The Asylum mind you.
