The Bourne Supremacy for one. I didn't care for the fast cutting on some of the early action scenes in QoS, but they didn't ruin my enjoyment of the movie overall. As someone else said in a post above, the cuts were so quick on the initial car chase and the horse race scenes that I didn't feel like I saw what was happening. Still, I thought they nailed the ending perfectly.

Anyone who thinks the cutting was as faced or as frequent as the Bourne movies either needs glasses, or needs to go and rewatch Bourne. I don't even get what the problem is... Fast cuts are fine, if they are done well, and both those movies did them well.

I typically don't like fast-cuts either. That said, however, I love the Bourne movies.
I think I'll rent this one. If it's ANYTHING like Casino Royale, however, I know I'll love it and buy it down the road. |

Okay, I'm being cynical. Literally in that order it could mean "An amount of inner peace" generally or if later definitions are used "A significant increase of peacefulness." At first I thought it didn't make sense since the movie was mostly action but for me it was actually prophetic, because after personally judging the film harshly after my first viewing of it being that it seemed quite mediocre with the lack of a good villain character IMO, I watched it again because many on here have suggested it gets better with a 2nd viewing. I had a "Significant increase in peacefulness" as the film actually put me to sleep after the first big action scene. To each their own but I swung twice and missed on this one. |

I love this film. I saw it three times in theaters -- first with my friends, then with my parents for my dad's birthday, and again with another buddy who wasn't able to go with us the first time. Everybody I went with loved it as much as I did.
The first viewing is a lot to take in because it moves fast, and it's so much tighter than Casino Royale. The second time I caught a couple of things I'd missed the first time, and by the third time I was all the way in love with it. Craig is amazing. In the Bourne movies, Bourne is like a machine. When a fight starts, the training kicks in, and it's dazzling to watch. With Craig's Bond, there's more passion and brutality. If you go after Bond, Bond is going to kill you first and kill you the worst. Craig's got the wit and the style, but he also has this classic Hollywood tough guy vibe, like Steve McQueen (whom he actually resembles to an extent). Some reviews cited the lack of romance, but I think it's a VERY romantic film. Bond and Camille have their goals, and they respect each other's emotional scars enough not to try to sleep with each other. That in itself is romantic, not to mention the fact that a big part of Bond's motivation is about Vesper anyway. It's a lean, mean revenge movie with a lead actor who's totally physically and emotionally dedicated. I love it. The Blu looks and sounds amazing. Highest possible recommendation. |

None in mine either.
I got it from Movie Stop. Only cost me $9.45 though after trading in 4 old dvd's. Plus I got a free deck of Bond playing cards. I wouldn't have used it but it would have been nice to give it to a friend or something. |

my guess is the extreme shaking and quick editing was used to try and hide some mistakes or bad directing of the action scenes by Marc Forster. There is quick editing and then there is this BS. Last edited by c00lbeans; 03-24-2009 at 05:30 PM. |

Any reacquaintance by me will be strictly via rental only. I don't think most will change their original opinion on this film. Time will tell.

yet on the huge Uptown Theatre screen here in DC, it's vomit inducing.
