Default Will we ever see The Fountain reissued?

With a loss less track and a bigger disc?
Fox handled the UK version while Warner did the US version. I know the UK version has a loss less DTS HDMA, and the US version only has DD 5.1. What is Warner Brothers doing????

Yeah Warner just threw The Fountain on shelves with little care. They actually told Darren Aronofsky that a commentary track wouldn't draw more sales, so that is why the DVD & HD discs have no commentary. He recorded one on his own afterward, which is available on some torrent sites etc.

I thought it was quite good. The audio could benefit from lossless, but the video quality is pretty good as is.

It is a shame the U.K. disc is region-locked. I doubt we will ever see Warner double dip on this Blu-ray. It was a huge disappointment for them in terms of box office and sales.

Yea, the 5.1 mix just doesn't cut it so that's why I've held out on this title. When a worthy version comes out I'll pick it up instantly! Here's hoping for Requiem sometime soon!!!

One of my favorite movies of all time (easily a top 5) ...not for the 'Two an a Half Men' crowd

It really is funny to look at the avatars of the people talking down this movie.

I doubt it will be re issued. sadly.

great movie, commentary is worth downloading if you can find it.

gotta love people coming into a fountain thread just to mention how much they hated it. oh well, at least I can solace in the fact that they are dead wrong and missing out.

I loved The Fountain and would have liked to have heard a lossless track (great score!), but that was Warner for ya. They robbed us of a lossless Speed Racer track too. And yes, I also liked Bad Santa.

Well TF1 released their version last Thursday and it includes a DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 English track and I've yet to see it to comment on the video. But so far, all TF1 releases have been top notch.

Locked to Region B though.

I really wish Criterion would give this movie their treatment. I know Aronofsky tried to get them to release a version of "The Fountain" and asked for fan support, but I don't know if that will ever materialize sadly (I believe Criterion has turned him down if I remember correctly).

Great film, but only for those with a decent attention span and are aware of metaphysical and philosophical thinking.

Great Movie, but I really hope Criterion gives us a better disc.

Its not that Criterion turned him down, but Warner does not license their films to Criterion. They never have for DVD & Blu-ray, just in the old laserdisc days. There IS a rumor circulating that certain directors who have their films with Warner, are strongly requesting their work be given the Criterion treatment... so maybe one day.

this movie needs The Criterion touch...Rachel Weisz was amazing in the film for a second choice...I do wish Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett would have stayed for their parts...damn Brad Pitt!!!

The Fountain is very unique. It confused me, but the acting was quite good. This movie is misunderstood and under rated. Not for everyone.
