The Atmos waveforms look good. No heavy compression like a lot of other Disney Atmos mixes.

The Star Wars Atmos track sounds fantastic. Never better.
I though it was even better than the laserdisc PCM track.

I think you are misinterpreting the information. The 2011 mixes generally speaking have less dynamic range and if I recall correctly the original DVDs are even worse.

May get around to the DVDs but not today.

Really appreciate you taking the time to post this. Great info here.

I have enjoyed the Atmos mixes on the ones I’ve watched so far. Was particularly impressed with the Atmos on Episode I.

Not to point fingers, but if you have a home theater with Dolby Atmos speaker setup and decent subwoofer and we’re not impressed with the sound, you seriously have your system setup incorrectly.

ANH is alright but TESB and ROTJ are really compressed.

Major clipping going on in those tracks.

I imagine many people using Denon or Marantz AVR’s don’t know that they leave dynamic compression on by default. The Oppo 203 does something similar.

My Pioneer 9.1 (no Atmos as it's from 2012, Elite range 'though) AVR has four settings for dinamic range, Auto, Mid, Max and Off. I have it set to Off, but Off doesn't seem to sound different to Auto.
