Can't believe there's no thread for this... the most hyped up show of the last few weeks and it's not close.

Among the eccentrics and cult personalities in the stranger-than-fiction world of big cat owners, few stand out more than Joe Exotic, a mulleted, gun-toting polygamist and country western singer who presides over an Oklahoma roadside zoo. Charismatic but misguided, Joe and an unbelievable cast of characters including drug kingpins, conmen, and cult leaders all share a passion for big cats, and the status and attention their dangerous menageries garner. But things take a dark turn when Carole Baskin, an animal activist and owner of a big cat sanctuary, threatens to put them out of business, stoking a rivalry that eventually leads to Joe’s arrest for a murder-for-hire plot, and reveals a twisted tale where the only thing more dangerous than a big cat is its owner.

Excellent doc series that just gets crazier and crazier as it goes along.

So, so good. Just further proving the point that you just can't write some stuff. Had this been a scripted show, people would have dragged it through the mud.

Binged the whole thing in a day. Just freaking crazy. It's like a horrible wreck on the freeway that you can't look away from.

I don't doubt that Joe is very weird and probably deserved some punishment but what he got was very excessive.

It was fine. Thought the first couple and last couple episodes could've been compressed into an episode each, but otherwise it's entertaining as hell. All the talk about how bonkers it is has not been exaggerated lol

I found this to be a bit overhyped honestly. Moderately fun and curious, but it seemed to lack a lot of focus, and kept getting stuck in circles with excessive detours. It’s at least two episodes too long.

My wife and I watched every episode the weekend it debuted on Netflix. Just about every person featured deserves to be eaten by a tiger. Especially that guy ("Doc"-something) who is essentially R. Kelly with wildlife. What a sicko.

Binged this yesterday and I loved it, but felt it was far too long. That seems to be a common thread with these Netflix shows and docs: they are far too long, focusing on things that don't really matter all that much. I could have done away with the tantric lion guy as his story doesn't really add to all that much. They devote too much time on him and his harem. That being said, I will watch this again down the line and just skip those parts that aren't worth much.
