How much of the relocation will they cover? How much time will be given to do so?

I would do it but those questions would need to be answered by my employer with some really good answers.

Weird, my dad is doing this too..

But you want to ask your company is they are paying for anything related to the relocation, i.e. moving fees, a raise (only some companies), sometimes they will even help you find a place to live.

No relocation fee's involve...they did offer me a week vacation after 6 months...and i'll just have to commute or stay at a relative until we decide to move.

oh damn, that sucks. It up to you really because you said the pay is better but then you are driving 2+ hours and thats a lot of gas. If you find a place, then it would be worth it.

In the current economy, I would say any oppurtunity is worth a shot! My mom relocated to Alaska for her job, and that's where we live now. It's provided me with a paycheck. I have no complaints.

Keep in mind the cost of living increase and see if you can afford to live there with the same quality lifestyle you have now.

Any chance they could sweeten the deal and add some extra $ for the traveling expenses?

I've lived in several states relocating for my job. I am blessed with an understanding wife. The hardest part is being 1250 miles from my elderly parents (86 and 87).
