Good, after what happened with Castle Rock, I was a bit worried that WB wouldn't continue with this show, either.

I haven't watched season two yet, but I'll be buying this regardless to support TV on UHD.

I kept yelling y'all you were worrying about nothing. Westworld ain't Castle Rock. And if GoT hadn't finished then the new seasons of that would also be released on UHD too.

I just finished season one this week and I am contemplating starting with SE2, would you guys say the image quality of the season two is at the same level or hopefully even better? Good to know that season three is coming!

Season two looks much better than season one on UHD, season three should be pure eye candy.

What is this Castle Rock and why HBO doesn't release it on 4K anymore?
Are there anymore HBO shows on 4K or is this the only one (besides Game of Thrones 1&8)? What other TV shows are on 4K? Maybe there should be a thread with a list or there is one already?

CASTLE ROCK (a show based on the writings of Stephen King) airs on Hulu and is handled on home video by Warner Bros. They released season one on 4K disc but the forthcoming season two will be Blu-ray only (presumably due to low sales of the 4K of season one, which is no surprise since I never saw a single brick-and-mortar store carry that edition).

The forthcoming releases of HBO’s THE OUTSIDER and WATCHMEN will be Blu-ray only, as well, making WESTWORLD the only show Warner Bros. has consistently been churning out on 4K disc.

I again wonder if it’s Westworld’s production/creators who maybe mandate 4K, and other HBO shows don’t really care if they get 4K.

There have been a couple of different threads in this forum (1 | 2), along with a wish list, but not a definitive list like we've seen for other topics.

It's not a long list regardless, alas. Warner has released more than any other studio, and even that's a fairly tiny number.

I'm not sure how complete a list this is, but, excluding nature documentaries and the like:

Castle Rock: Season 1
Doctor Who: Twice Upon a Time
Game of Thrones: Seasons 1 & 8
Peanuts Holiday Collection
Sherlock: Season 1
Stranger Things: Seasons 1 & 2

Watched S1, thought it was just "okay". Have S2 on 4K but haven't watched it yet. Probably will get S3.

Maybe it's just the streams I'm watching but it's mad how 'clean' S3 looks, there's the finest lil' dusting of grain in places but I've had a hard time telling that it was shot on film at all. And yet shot on film it was.

I just got done watching S2 on UHD and it was a godsend. I delayed my viewing of S3 until I could complete it.

HBO doesn’t stream in 4K.

It’s quite the looker this season, very eager to see it in 4K HDR myself.
