Default Yamaha RX-V863 & Klipsch RW-12D Sub connection PROBLEM

I have a problem I just got the Yamaha RX-V863 Receiver and the Klipsch RW-12d subwoofer. I'm not sure where I would plug the sub into on the receiver? I didn't realize the sub had different connections. Pictures included. any help would be appreciated. Thank you

Just and example of what you will need to connect the sub ...

Connected the way Causal killer suggested.

Awesome thanks for the help. Anybody have any more sites on where to get the cables. I need close to 20 feet. thanks. I think I all I need is the splitter. I bought a monster cable ultra 600 series sub cable. So i think I just need the splitter now if I am am correct?

you dont even need the splitter. even though there is a r/l, you can just pick one or the other and plug it in.

If you just got the receiver, you should really sit down and spend an evening going through the manual. Not only will it prevent these sorts of basic questions, but there's a LOT of advanced things you can make it do that you won't immediately pick up just from using it.

A really good place to get a cost effective quality subwoofer cable is www.bluejeanscable.com . They build their own cables, and they do it without a lot of B.S. I bought a Blue Jeans LC1 subwoofer cable to replace a cheapie Radio Shack sub cable, originally to use with my old Yamaha subwoofer. Swapping the cable out removed a bit of boominess from the sub, which I never noticed was there before. It truly felt like I replaced the sub and not the cable. I now use the same cable with my M&K V-125 subwoofer in my home theater room, and it performs well. I have zero grounding issues, and the sub never makes a sound it's not supposed to.

Don't skimp on your sub cable, because it can make a noticable difference. Even without skimping though, you don't need to buy an expensive cable either. Blue Jeans Cable has great sub cables, and they're very reasonably priced. I bought a 10 foot cable for around $25.

Hi Donut man,
Please continue to post your experience with the 863. I too have an 863 and I have many questions about it. All said and done, it is a fine receiver and sounds great, but it does indeed have some quirks of it's own. There is no
"Official Yamaha RX-V863 Thread" on this forum, although, there is indeed a very interesting one for the 663. I wish somebody awhole lot smarter than I am, would start a thread just for the 863.
