If anyone has a digital code for the Elvira edition they’re not using please shoot me a pm. I might want to buy it off you. I’d like to see how they change the movie, and added Elvira to it (I’ve already seen the standard release).

For those interested, this is going back on sale on Friday the 13th, so don't pay the crazy scalper prices on eBay if you want a copy

The digital download what file format is it? is this a 1080P download of the film? I thought maybe it was a movie you redeemed someplace but does not seem that is the case? How much will this be during the flash sale?

Almost through the crazy long runtime... it’s definitely more Terror in the Aisles than Never Sleep Again. Glad I didn’t buy it, zero replay value. Really no focus and it lacks an authoritative voice. One guy - james janisse - is unbearable to listen to, completely scripted and unnatural sounding. Nothing really sheds any new light, they’re talking about (mostly) really popular movies and not diving too deep and skipping over too much

Interesting that for the flash sale at https://80shorrordoc.com/ they say “factory pressed blu ray”.. when I got from the original Kickstarter some cheap ritek bd-r and no word back from Creator VC about replacement for a pressed.

Hopefully they are pressing extras for those who have previously complained about issues with the original burnt discs.

This is true, better if they had less movies and more in depth discussions. Joe Dante was the best.

Never did hear back from them as far as getting a replacement. Crap company that I will never give $$ to again

$50?! Easy hard pass. Something like this should only be about $30 max shipped.

Just got an email with a long apology about how they were inexperienced and unprepared which led to mistakes and bad decisions and went on to say that my cheap, BD-R with blistered label and home printed artwork will be replaced with a factory pressed and professionally printed blu-ray which is being replicated now within the US and will be shipping within the next few weeks.

Hmmm so I've got to do that with the In Search of the Last Action Heroes blu-ray.
Did you mail them or did they took the initiative to mail you?

Even the retail release copies of that Blu-ray are all BD-R's, so I doubt they're going to replace them for that release.

James Janisse...is he from the Dead Meat Podcast? If so...lol I know what you mean. A long while ago I was able to see an early cut of this doc (sometime last summer). On Ainitcoolnews there was a post in which folks were looking for people to 'see early cuts and give their first impressions' (aka they wanted feedback) and I was able to be a part of it. Sent me an email, a vimeo link that was up for a short amount of time and then to 'give honest thoughts to them'.

And you hit the nail on the head for all of it. I remember a lot of my complaint (because they wanted honest thoughts) was about that guy...obviously they didn't listen to that. I do remember also complaining that The Blob (1988) wasn't in there but I have heard that was rectified.

That Janisse guy was fake sounding. It was almost like he was auditioning for a radio show or so forth. And sadly he is the only one who chats about a LOT of movies (at least in the initial cut I saw, not sure if that was changed).

You're not going to find really much of any new information that you haven't heard before. Also, it would've been nice if the interviewees talked about films that wasn't just their own (for example, did John Carpenter have thoughts on Evil Dead 2? Child's Play? etc.) and such. Unless it was a podcaster or something like that.

And a lot of movies were skipped. It would've been a perfect opportunity to shed light on really unknown movies of the 80s and go 'hey, this is our opportunity to talk to someone about...oh I don't know...Murder By Phone which starred Richard Chamberlain or Blue Monkey with Steve Railsback or such.

When I saw that way back when? I knew I wasn't going to pay $60 or whatever for that.

Has anyone documented what the differences are between the versions. Mostly, I'm wondering how much more Elvira did the Elvira version get? There are no extras on the Elvira disc. Is it missing extras that are on the regular edition?

I have the standard version (260 mins) and while I don't know how much extra footage there is in the different special editions, the standard edition does have some special features on the blu-ray.

Did anyone who put in for a replacement ever actually get one? Still nothing on my end...
