I’m looking to get my first 4K TV and I prefer it to be around the $500-600 range and 55 inches. I was thinking about the TCL 6 Series, but the “panel lottery” issue has me worried and also since the stand is at the extreme edges it won’t fit on my dresser. This is still a possible option but I’d need to get a separate stand that rests more towards the middle of the TV. Anyone have any recommendations for stands?
I was also thinking about getting the LG 55SM8600PUA Nano 8 Series. It has a stand in the middle of the TV but it’s a bit more expensive than the TCL at about $700 on Amazon. I’d like to get some people’s opinions on these TVs and/or some suggestions of other TVs. Thanks! |

I ended up buying a Hisense 4k TV and could not be happier, it even does
Dolby Vision, plus My 4k Blu-ray player, I purchased a Phillips machine, and it only cost Me $75 bucks. So Very satisfied. |

I know a few people with a Hisense and if you want a big 4K screen for cheap then its fine but if you're a cinephile I wouldn't recommend it. Weak colors, weak HDR and weak black levels kill it for me but if you're not picky about picture quality then go for it, you can probably find a 55" for $250

Give the Vizio M-series Quantum a look. The M8 version with 90 zones and up to 600 nits is currently going for $529 on Best Buy (it sort-of makes sense since Vizio should release their most of their new 2020 TVs by the end of the month or perhaps next month at least).

The model I purchased is Hisense H9E-Plus 55 inch. Do not listen to the haters, is it a Rolls Royce, no, but for the money I spent I am very happy. A great website to check out is rtings.com The TV I have does good black levels, HDR 10 and Dolby vision, it also has a built is Media player that works really well.
Here is a review: https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/hisense/h9e-plus However the H9F is a better model! |
