It's from 1969 and is also known as Two Undercover Angels. It's a spy movie with some comedy, crazy dancing, some horror elements, some WTF elements, and Morpho. It's a change of pace from the Franco I normally see. Fun film.

The Devil Hunter (1980) has been released on blu-ray in the U.K. by 88 Films.

So I am new to Franco and have blind bought the following Blus (after a lot of research on where to start) in the last month or so during the COVID lockdown.

- Female Vampire (Redemption)
- Eugenie (Blue Underground)
- Justine (Blue Underground)
- She Killed in Ecstasy (Severin)
- Vampyros Lesbos (Severin)


Of the above I have only been able to watch three thus far (Eugenie, Vampyros Lesbos and Female Vampire). Here are some thoughts:

- I am prepared to make the claim that no director in film history has such a solid casting of beautiful women in there leads as Franco films. My dear god... I am not sure who would be more desirable, Soledad Miranda or Marie Liljedahl. Both are just drop dead gorgeous in their own ways.

- I would say of the three I have watched, Eugenie was the most enjoyable as a film. That said for future newcomers, I cannot stress enough how Franco’s films (the very few I have watched thus far) are structurally and narratively different then anything else I have seen (and I am a big Lynch fan). Just be prepared for long meandering shots with multiple zooms, movements and focusing techniques.

- I watched Female Vampire last night with the help of some legal here in Canada cannabis) and it was a trip. I have to say as my first Lina Romay flick, I was very surprised at her beauty and screen presence. She had big shoes to fill after Marie and Miranda’s performances but she held her own and embodied a different, more dark type of sexiness. Also I am shocked Franco was able to not only hook up with her but be her partner for so long.

- Also I am still not sure what I thought of the film. I may need to give the shorter Erotikill a view soon before moving on to the others.

I am curious who everyone else’s favorite Franco femmes are.

You do have some homework to do, but at least it will be a ton of fun.

My top 3 would have to be Soledad, Lina & Alice Arno, but it's stiff competition to be sure. And let's not forget Susan Hemmingway. She had some very memorable turns in Jess's movies - just not enough of them, in my opinion.

They're great films - some of my favorites of Jess's, and you'll help out a lot of different labels who probably need some sales in these times. And strangely enough, I read somewhere that Christopher Lee said that this was his favorite Dracula film out of all the ones he did. Enjoy!

Night of Open Sex is very good - I'm just trying to spread the love across a lot of labels. If I had to pic 3, I would pick the French release of Lorna, Jack the Ripper and Night has A Thousand Desires.

I was hoping Female Vampire was going to be very explicit given that it was supposed to have some hardcore scenes in it but it was pretty tame.
