Default When upgrading, what do you do with previous projector?

Hey there! So I'm wondering, how do you all go about selling the old projector once you upgrade? Seems like it could be a challenge, though I'm trying OfferUp. What would be a good rule of thumb on re-sale price?

Thanks!

When I sold my old projector, I had grown tired of ticking off the hours left on the blub, and just wanted to get rid of it.

I was also upgrading the rest of my system, so I threw in a superb Panasonic 1000w HTiB to make it more enticing. I bought all of the components at rock-bottom prices, along with only using 15% maximum of the lamp-life, and sold the lot with only about 25% depreciation.

My best advice would be to do as I did: try and sell it to a pub/bar, as small venues without a projector (and whom wouldn't have thought of getting one for helping to snare more punters with sports events, etc) would be likely to take it off your hands for a reasonable sum.

Sincerely - good luck!

If you're a registered member on ebay, you can sell it there, or give it to somebody.

Due to their fragile nature I would be cautious about selling it when shipping is involved such as eBay.

It would be expensive to ship and if anything doesn't work quite right, the buyer is entitled to a 100% refund (item + shipping costs).

Local Craigslist or Facebook Marketplace would be my recommendation.

If you're feeling generous, it's the sort of thing schools/charities are always on the look out for.

You can donate it to your local school.

Projector Central has a list of places you can donate it to. https://www.projectorcentral.com/donation.cfm

You can also regift to your children or a friend.

I still have my previous 2 projectors. (Sony 40es and JVC 950R) My first projector an Epson 8350, I gave to my cousin to enjoy. In return I was treated to a live taping of Hollywood Babble-On in Toronto. Almost sold my Sony to a former neighbour this summer, but family emergency forced them to suddenly move.
