Nicely done, Spootnek.

Helpfully want to add that both NIGHT KEY and THE CLIMAX are available on Blu in the UNIVERSAL HORROR COLLECTION: VOLUME 4 set, and that a Blu of THE BLACK CASTLE will be included in the upcoming UNIVERSAL HORROR COLLECTION: VOLUME 6 set.

His 1967 film, THE SORCERER, is available on a region free disc in the UK from Odeon...if you're interested in including region free import options. https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/The-S...lu-ray/110962/

Sure, I'll add Region Free International Blu-rays. That link says Region B for that one though, are you sure it's Region Free?

Yes, the back of the case itself says "Region Code Free." I've played it in my Sony player just fine.

Hey spootnek, this is a great thread! Now let's get some of these Karloff DVD's on Blu-ray! Here's a start:

There are six Karloff titles that he made for Columbia that are listed here that could make a great "Karloff at Columbia" box set.

The Black Room (1935)
The Man They Could Not Hang (1939)
Before I Hang (1940)
The Man With Nine Lives (1940)
The Devil Commands (1941)
The Boogie Man Will Get You (1942)

I say "box set" because Powerhouse/Indicator in the UK has a deal with Sony,
and has already released boxed sets featuring directors William Castle, John Ford, and Sam Fuller. Also more than a few box sets of Hammer/Columbia films.

Back in January of this year, I emailed them about the possibility of doing a "Karloff at Columbia" set. I did get a positive email response from them saying that they were interested and would look into it with Sony.

I know that Mill Creek, here in the US, also has a deal with Sony, and has released these films on a DVD set, beyond the Sony releases. But many of Mill Creek's releases have been rather dubious, both on DVD and Blu-ray.

So, perhaps, if others are interested in such a set from Indicator (which could be a region free set) might want to email them as well. The contact link:

https://www.powerhousefilms.co.uk/pages/contact

Thanks again spootnek for starting this thread!

Yup, Targets is a great title. A Paramount release, but in 2013 Warner Archive Collection released this on a DVD-R. So I think WAC has the rights and needs to release it on blu-ray.

He's great as the Indian Chief in C.B. DeMille's, Unconquered (1947), & there's a really beautiful Blu-ray released in Germany & France, but they might be region B locked. I dunno, is that one on Kino's release slate?

I'd love to see The Mask Of Fu Manchu, he's really good in that. One for a Warner Archive release...if they ever get around to it.

Don't know if Unconquered is on Kino's slate: I think that's a question for BarnDoor. I hope The Mask of Fu Manchu along with Targets are on WAC's slate sometime soon.

Hey Karloff fans, this was just announced this morning by Kino Lorber:

Horror legend Boris Karloff (Frankenstein, The Old Dark House, The Black Cat) portrays a kindly doctor who seeks to cure a young woman of polio through injections of human spinal fluid. Of course, spinal fluid is difficult to obtain, particularly as the victim must be alive. When a circus ape escapes and breaks into Karloff’s home, he finds the solution to his problems—or does he? This creepy classic was directed by William Nigh (Mr. Wu, The Mystery of Mr. Wong) and co-written by Curt Siodmak (I Walked with a Zombie, The Wolf Man) and Richard Carroll (Five Came Back), with atmospheric cinematography by Harry Neumann (My Gun Is Quick).
