slow loading old Sony machine - Blu-ray Forum

I have the first Sony Blu-ray machine. I've done all the upgrades from Sony, but on some movies it takes forever to load. A few I've given up on. I'm new on this forum and I hope this hasn't been asked to death. Do I need a new machine? Thanks Don

The short answer is probably yes. Get one with BD-Live, which is version 2.0, I haven't gone this route yet myself, but I believe some players have wireless connections but the 802.11 standard will need to match your wireless modem as well I believe.

Many of the first and second generation BD players are very slow to load newer releases. A new player is your best solution.

If you can wait a little bit and want to stick with Sony then they do have two new ones coming out. The BDP-S360 and BDP-S560, and they both have wifi built in making updating a breeze.

Or just go with a PS3.

Which model do you have? Most older machines are not internet enabled, making it diffcult to do a firmware update. Software is available for some of them, though.

This is A good idea PS3 !! My first player was s350 & it sucked for loading time ~ Took forever ! Now everything is VARY fast as far as turning on & getting started !!!!!!!!!
