PS3 XMB Video Preview Help - Blu-ray Forum

I have a stupid question

that I am hoping someone can answer for me. On the PS3 XMB, how do you get the video preview to work? I'm asking because it is not automatic for me. I've looked in the settings and didn't see anything. Today I was in BB and they had it working for music videos, game video's, etc. But there was no one around who know how that worked. By the way, I did do a search and couldn't find anything.

Please Help? Thanks in advance.

funny thing is i have 1 video that has the preview and its the only one i transfered from a usb stick to the ps3. any video i download from PSN doesnt have the preview. strange i say.

Copy the video from PSN to the jump drive, delete it on the PS3, then copy it from the jump drive back to the PS3.

It WILL have the preview as well!

too much work just to get a thumbnail preview going on. i really dont care much. i just think its cool getting the GOW3 preview showing everytime im in my video folder

Or you can just press triangle while viewing the video and select "Change Icon".

+1. Freakin' ditto for me. It still amazes me how I can still be discovering new stuff with the PS3 even after using it regularly since launch.

Fiancée started doing this for our videos back when the HP: OotP theatrical trailer was released...like 2 years ago? I saw HP fly over London on our XMB and was in awe.

wow..this is too funny. I got my PS3 at launch and I'll admit I didn't find out how to do the previews for a few months but it's been almost 3 years since the PS3 came out!

Does anyone else think this should be a "sticky"? I'm sure there are others out there, from some of the responses to this thread, that are unaware how to activate this feature. I guess it will be up to the mods.

Don't forget all, that this only works for videos on the PS3 HDD and not on an external HDD.

Unless of course that's changed in the last few months.

NO more effin' stickies!!! It just recently got down to 8. And honestly, while this is somewhat cool, it's old news and completely non-essential.
