PS4 owners of GTAV, will get a million dollars every month till the release of the game. PS5 owners will get GTAO for free.

Ridiculous. I guess at least they put out RDR2 in 2018 or they really would have gone 8 years releasing just one game over and over again

R* are the scummiest leeches currently going. Bet you guys they just sell another PS5 version of GTA V instead of offering a free patch for existing PS4 owners. Also, GTA Online "free" for 3 months only from PS5 launch IF you have a PlayStation Plus membership. Ironically when you need that same membership to actually play the game.

I own GTA 5 but I never started it, hopefully they do patch it for free, or at least discounted since they're expanding it (although I highly doubt it)

It's actually just a BS marketing grab. Remember that Sony said you could install/uninstall portions of games like keeping Single Player or Multiplayer or deleting them. This is basically R* shovelling a "free" incentive on the hopes you'll end up spending money on the cards etc.

They've literally milked this to death and because of it they never made any single player DLC for TWO generations. Also, at least for 7 years of the entire PS4 life either.

Considering the PS5 is backwards compatible, lets hope GTAV is one game that works without needing a patch

Who is the online base for the games multiplayer? I've never really seen buzz for it online and don't know anyone who is into it. Obviously it is a cash cow, its just odd you don't see it mentioned with other heavy hitters (COD:MW/warzone, fortnite, apex, etc etc) but yet it just won't die.

Personally I view it as a travesty, because the DLC for GTAIV was pretty damn good (The ballad of gay tony was peak GTAIV, bringing back some of the zaniness from san andreas that it had lost in its quest for being realistic). And if the MP on GTAIV didn't make so much money, there's a solid chance we could have had more SP GTA content instead of the countless MP expansions and casino and such.

I am interested but no rush... it all depends on the city or cities. I think I would be more interested if the game spreads across a few cities or even countries.

seeing as they're throwing a bone for ps4 owners, online money and 3 months access for the online ps5 version, it's safe to say that this will be $60 and not a free upgrade

I can see it being like that:
- Ps4 version works on "legacy mode"
- Ps5 version is enhanced with extra content

Had this game on the Xbox 360, PS4, and Xbox One. Never bothered to complete it. Easy pass for me.

I'm assuming they'll mainly look to upgrade the loading times, which is nice
