United Kingdom Rumor machine girl steelbook HMV.co.uk

""Cine Asia are pleased to announce that Machine Girl will be available on 18th May EXCLUSIVELY and ONLY through HMV retail stores and HMV.co.uk

We have worked closely with HMV to produce a very Limited Edition Steelbook (High quality tin case) and would advise all fans of the genre to pre-buy while stocks last to avoid disappointment!

Machine Girl will also be available on BluRay and DVD in standard amaray format.

""

i am not sure if its dvd or blu-ray sorry
go to this site
http://www.cine-asia.co.uk/news/

She reminds me of Yuna in Final Fantasy X-2:

I checked HMV.co.uk and they only have the normal DVD up for now, but at least the release date's right.

I've heard of Godzilla, but this looks more like Prodzilla.

Me neither. I looked it up on Rotten Tomatoes and copied this synopsis:

A sweet Japanese schoolgirl is out on a rampage in this ultraviolent action flick from director Noboru Iguchi. When gangsters murder her brother, and hack off her left arm, Ami gets her stump fitted with a gattling gun and goes out for revenge. Needless to say, Ami's pleated skirt and knee-high socks get awful bloody as the bad guys find themselves on the receiving end of her wrath. Drill bras, chainsaws, and flying guillotines cut and grind their way through this kinetic killfest that will thrill fans of extreme horror and Robert Rodriguez's PLANET TERROR.

63% fresh rating! But there was only 8 reviews. Blind buy? Maybe. I'm curious to see what a drill bra looks like.

That's the first thing I thought: "rip off of Planet Terror". We'll see I guess.

Oh, that's her left arm? Why am I not surprised?

As for the rip off, aren't usually Americans who recycle successfull foreign movies? (apart from their own ) Starting with The Seven Samurai, The Ring, Taxi etc. just to name a few. So which was first the hen or the egg?

I checked movie releases and this one came out after Planet Terror. So just for once, it's the other way around.

Maybe this time Japanese writers were on strike.

i got a email from them and they said it is

Hi There!

thanks for getting in touch

as we state on the Cine Asia website, we are releasing Machine Girl in a special Steelbook, Blu Ray and Standard DVD formats

We produce steelbooks very rarely as they are very expensive to produce - and make our packaging extremely collectible! We keep this only for the greatest and most appropriate releases

keep checking the site for news of an exciting Machine Girl competition coming soon!

enjoy the movie, and keep in touch

best wishes

the Cine Asia Team

so now wheres the pre order on hmw.co.uk

The way I read the response, it doesn't quite say whether the blu-ray release will be a steelbook release?

Where exactly will this be available. I assume this will be Hong Kong based, but the website referes to HMV and HMV.co.uk

So that's a bit confusing because on the UK site only the regular DVD with English subtitles is announced. Hard to believe a Japanese / Chinese steelbook with no English audio is gonna hit European shelves in HMV stores.

Which still doesn't make sense IMHO. It's like trying to sell French subtitled movies in Tibet. How many copies will they sell? One?

Anyway, if it's a UK release it should be even a bit easyer to get than from Hong Kong. Maybe it's even worth a trip to London.
