Turkey Horrid Henry The Movie 3-D

I have the Turkish release of Horrid Henry The Movie 3-D (Felaket Henry) and it's region free. It has the original English audio track; I don't recall subtitle info. I can re-check if needed.

Technically, this thread covers 3D discs ONLY available in one region, not those that are or were available in both regions. Anyway, the first two on your list are not region free in the UK, the second two are region free everywhere (Warner Brothers and Disney don't use region locking). There was a Region A release of Mockingjay Part 2 in Thailand but that's very hard to find now.

Thanks, I've moved it from the region locked list to the region free list.

Thanks much. I see I had not mentioned... But I wanted to buy these from Amazon UK, but use it in the US. Hence this question.

Default Comprehensive auto-conversion list somewhere ?

These are basically conversions that don't appear to have had any human involvement - some have an effect much like the 2D to 3D conversion features on some TVs, others are basically a flat 2D image pushed back into the screen, some just have the bottom forward with the top two-thirds pushed back. Needless to say, if a film is on this list, the 3D is going to be very bad. Some are censored too so that's another reason you may well regret your purchase! If I know a film is region free or locked I'll make a note. It's all a bit Wild West in Germany so note that bonus films do vary, as indeed do titles! Again, these are all English-friendly unless otherwise specified:

Gert Krumbacher's reviews of German 3D releases are also very useful and far more comprehensive: https://www.amazon.de/gp/profile/amz..._=cm_cr_dp_pdp
Is there a comprehensive list somewhere? I appreciate the13thman's list (on message 6), but has someone compiled a comprehensive list of the auto-conversions? When I'm on amazon.de or similar site, a bunch of obscure 3-D b-movies pop up. It's a bit of a chore looking them up all over the place. It'd be nice to have a list like message 6 but fleshed out more extensively, that could be referred to quickly. That way, we'd know which ones to avoid without too much hassle. And Krumbacher's reviews are great but is there a way to navigate it other than by his review date? Otherwise, it's too cumbersome.

The short answer is no, there's no comprehensive list. There are just so many autoconversions, often released under multiple titles, that it's a huge job to list them all.

However, without exception I do buy every 3D movie that isn't an autoconversion so if you find an obscure 3D movie on Amazon.de that isn't listed in post #4 or post #5 you can bet on it being an autoconversion.

There are of course a few foreign 3D films exclusively available in France and/or Germany that aren't English-friendly (e.g the last Detective Dee movie, Darker Than Night) but there's a separate thread for those.

Thought I'd add in here that Home (the Dreamworks Movie) is Region B locked for the Turkish 3D release. Also The Final Destination (Destination Finale 4) is Region B locked for the French release. Those threads could use updating because they imply region free worldwide which is the reason I bought them.

Thread titles have been updated and I've updated the first post in The Final Destination thread too, as that has anaglyph releases to watch out for as well.

Unfortunately not every release is listed on this site or on comparison sites so there's always a possibility that a title will turn out to have had a region locked release nobody was previously aware of, I'm sorry you were unlucky enough to take the hit on two of them.

I think it'll just push me to get a region free mod or a cheap region free player, and besides, I don't mind being the guinea pig in this situation, this site has been an invaluable resource for finding basically every 3D blu-ray I have now which I've sourced from all over the world, 2/however many I've bought thanks to this site is a drop in the ocean

Nice picture and handy list of rare 3D titles (all of which I own except Battle Royale, Spacewalker and Zombillenium) but the Trading Forum is really where these kinds of posts belong.

I knew I'd screw up something. Sorry, I'll shift it over later tonight when I return to town. I have a couple minor updates I should add so I'll do it all in one shot.

Thanks!

Just wanted to thank 13thman as I think in hindsight this was the most useful thread in the 3D forum for me. I collected a lot of the titles on this list while avoiding the auto conversions. Big time and money saver here.

Found a autoconversion disc not on the list:
https://www.amazon.de/-/en/Lane/dp/B018JA25Q4/

Jailbait (2014). The Asylum production, so I'm 99,9% sure it is autoconversion.
(I don't own the disc)

I'm 100% sure it's an autoconversion. The Asylum gave up on native 3D after three movies.

For anyone who has seen Sonic 2, did it seem like it was significantly staged for 3D to anyone else? Lots of layered particles, depth shots, and scenes with objects getting shoved into the camera. There's also a very 3D seeming scene using an iconic 3D object, you'll know it of you see it.

I was thinking this during the film, but my 3D normie pals also got the same impression. Now, I can understand The King's Man being set for 3D as it was a film set for 2019, but Sonic 2 was filmed in 2021.

Another 3D film that not only never received a bluray but also never received a (publicly released) conversion?
