Default What's your home theatre test disc?

Hey folks

So what disc/scene do you use when trying out new equipment, or testing tweaks to your set up?

I'm trying to decide on my top three, and will update this shortly!

At the moment, Blade Runner 2049 UHD. I also like to use Baraka for SDR calibration.

I've moved twice in the last year and found myself using Endgame for testing in both (admittedly, very different) cases (the scene where Antman is sitting outside with his taco is particularly good for testing directionality).

I'm currently waiting to have my Atmos speakers installed. Once I do and my setup is complete, I can't wait to rewatch the first film I saw in 4K: Blade Runner: 2049.

Welcome, Hiningla. You might have better luck making a new thread in the Home Theater General Discussion forum with your question. Also, let people know what your budget is so they can give you good recommendations.

Ever since the days of dvd, the lobby scene from The Matrix has been my go to demo. I still love demoing that scene. However, the final fight between Neo and Smith in Revolutions is an amazing Atmos demo.

I have also started using the final underwater battle in Aquaman to demo my Hue sync box and lights. It’s a great scene for that.

Since I got Blu-Ray, I always liked to use the below beginning scenes:

The Mummy (1999)

The movie starts out in B & W. It's a great way to see if the display is tracking correctly. If it can't do B & W correctly, it can't do color either.

Also like to add Jurassic World to this list. Amazing video and sound and you can’t go wrong with Dinosaurs killing each other.
