Easy pickup. The remake was horrid. Absolutely horrid.

On a sparkling spring day in 1974, some friends and I were deciding which movie to see at the cinema: The Longest Yard or Gold, which starred Roger Moore. We ended up seeing Gold. A decision we've had to live with for the past 46 years.

The remake is decent. Not high art or anything.

Original is wonderful. Burt in all his glory. Full machismo baby!

It's odd, this release is on every Australian site...except Umbrella's own site, & they're the company that's releasing it! I think it's because their site only goes up to July 7th & this is released on the 8th.

It is odd... They should've made the release date July 7th so it would show on their site... I've been patiently waiting for a pre-order to come up so I can buy it directly from them. I want to make sure they get rewarded for releasing such an awesome Burt Reynolds movie!

Same for me. I hope it arrives quicker than my JB Hifi Star Wars 4K UHDs. They took around eight weeks. btw Would be interested to hear how Longest Yard looks from anyone that already has it.

I picked it up too. Fun movie and always nice when Aussies get a blu-ray exclusive.

It arrived in the UK today. I had a quick zip through it. I thought it looked very nice, obviously an old master, but good enough for me, nice colour/contrast & clean picture (from the bits I saw), no extras (as usual with Umbrella). No Burt Reynolds commentary, I didn't think it would have (the UK DVD doesn't have it either), maybe if Paramount release it themselves in America it'll have the commentary.

They’re on the 2005 edition with a slipcover and horrible Photoshopped cover.

Ah, I must have the earlier DVD (I can get rid of that now).
