I don't think you will hear a difference in better sound if you ask me. There is also a small loss of the signal, and this happens anytime you split any signal, but it is minimal. With my set-up, the Y-splitter simply gave me the ability to set-up 2 subs (only 1 sub out on the 605) I wanted it to fill the small pockets or db voids in my basement. I feel now that the bass is more evenly distributed no matter where you sit, so that part to me makes it sound tighter.

By the way, if you would like to look around and compare, here is where I got my Y-splitter at......it is a few bucks more, but for just a few bucks, I "felt" like these were better cables, even though they very well might not be. But for a couple extra dollars, I figured I could afford it, LOL!

I bought the monoprice one, and then bought this one...its a much thicker wire...which is what I was looking for...more like a sub cable than a RCA cable... the thicker, the better, right? |

Yeah, I felt the same way, as I originally had the monoprice one and thought it looked a little small to handle a sub.

well i picked two of theses up i have an onkyo 705 and use the sub pre out line but i also got a monster subwoofer filter/plug it came with in/out for the subs pre outs 2 pairs of red n white the advice i was given a looong while back sum where in avs forum was to use the splitteres on the in and out of the monster sub filter power thingy as there might be a loss of some signal sumwhere using only one i dunno how true that is but i did it i also packed my sub with polyfill after doin both i gotta say the sound quality is definetly noticeable

I am using this Y-cable on my sub. Nice quality and not expensive.
