RIP. Sucks that he battled with cancer for that long, but at least now he’s at peace.

Say what you will about his Batman films, but they were goofy and zany enough to provide an escape from reality.

For me personally, Phone Booth remains a criminally underrated film. Falling Down is another one I really enjoy with Michael Douglas.

RIP. He was a terrific director, i liked a lot of his films-St. Elmo's Fire, The Lost Boys were just some of his greats.

RIP

I’ll be forever grateful to him for giving me Batman Forever and it’s sequel. Those two flicks made my gay childhood so much more brighter and fun.

Wow, that was a shock. The Client and 8mm are two of my favorite dramatic thrillers from the '90s.

This is actually quite upsetting to me. He never made a film I didn't enjoy in some way or another(well, Number 23 was meh). He made some greats, and some guilty pleasures... but above all he dedicated his craft to entertaining cinema goers. He'll be missed.

I'd like to throw A Time To Kill into the list of greatness made by this man. Very sad day in a year of suck.

My favorite film of his is "Batman Forever". That was important to me as a kid and I still love it unabashedly.

He seemed to work well with actors and many were very loyal to him. I read a lengthy interview he did a few months back that I bookmarked because it was pretty interesting. https://www.vulture.com/2020/06/joel...versation.html
