Default iTunes release dates

Hi,

Looking for clarification on release dates: iTunes lists release dates as original release date (eg 1937 for Disney’s Snow White rather than 2016 for the Signature Collection version). I was under the impression that on Blu-ray.com in the case of Snow White I would use the 2016 date, however if I use this method the amount of iTunes releases with unknown iTunes specific release dates is huge. Please can I have clarification on which release date I should be using (1937 or 2016? If I know the original release date but not the iTunes specific release date should I put the original date or leave it blank?).

Thanks.

The release date for itunes (or any other media format) is the date when it was available for purchase, so in the case of itunes version of Snow White it would be the 2016 date.
1937 is the release year of the movie and it is covered by the theatrical/parent entry
