Tannoy Revolution DC4T

So we finally got these bad boys in at my work the other day... first thing i did on shift was connect them and give em a listen. To put it bluntly I was smitten by these speakers! I was stunned by the amount of bass they put out with only a 4 inch driver, and I was pleased with what can only be described as "airy" highs and a very 3D, immersive sounding soundstage.

So basically I've decided to sell my B&W bookshelves (most likely to my roommate so they'll never be too far away) and buy a pair of these diminutive towers!

Anybody have any stories about Tannoy?? (dont tell me they're overpriced please... they're not)

haven't listened to these...... but I have always enjoyed Tannoy's sound...... not sure why they get such a bad rap.

Well the thing is... I thought they would have a similar sound to KEF, which sound paper thin to me... but they are using 4 inch drivers and sound like they're big, full speaker

I have a pair of Sixes, the 6o9 model featuring 8" dual concentric drivers. Back in 90s I had them hooked up to an all Rotel system: preamp, power amp, and CD player. The bass is very accurate and solid. If you are used single note thumping bass, you'll probaby say where's the bass? It's not only there but really there. The midrange and highs too, uncolored, unpronounced, and well dispersed. Great speakers but, when I got into HT, I was unable to find even a single 6o9 to use as a center, let alone two more for the surrounds. Sadly, after getting Energy speakers which sound just as good, my Tannoys are packed away waiting for a good home.
