the price for the DE is $40 ($32 with amazon prime) shows that it's always better to wait now, specially with fighting games. I didn't follow the game closely but I think my friend said he paid like $100 on KI since launch

Yeah, of all the game genres, fighting games are probably the genre where DLC has the biggest impact on the overall finished game, and the genre that benefits most from DLC. The initial release of Killer Instinct could barely be classified as a demo, and now it's an amazing game full of content.

I'm not spending any more money (real money) on Street Fighter V costumes and stages. I'll just wait for some definitive edition SFV disc that has all the characters, costumes, stages, colors, story mode, all other modes and all the gameplay polish tweaks on a single disc. They're already getting annoying, charging 10 friggin dollars for a new "Capcom Pro Tour" stage!

Even though Capcom said that they would only release one disc release of SFV (the current one), I refuse to believe them. Game makers (especially Capcom) always lie about these promises.

I think they meant that the current disc will be all you need to get the latest update/version of the game

they'll surely release an updated physical release in a year or 2, but may come with the same original disc + codes for the extra contents (like Destiny the taking king)

That's true, but I'm thinking since this new release says "Definitive Edition" that maybe it could be the end of Killer Instinct. Maybe at some point we'll get another one?
