Default What wires do i need?

im buying a receiver and a set of speakers with a sub. besides hdmi, what other wires will i need to hook it all up?

That's a little vague. What receiver, speakers, and sub are you buying? The length of cable you will need for each speaker will determine what gauge speaker wire you should use. And depending on the speaker terminals you can get banana plugs for easy and secure connections. But if you have spring clip terminals then a smaller wire should be used.

its gonna be the sony str dg 720 receiver and a set of polk rm6750 speakers. gonna be a bedroom set up so maybe 15ft for the longest wire...

Ah, I have the Polk RM6750 speakers. I used Monoprice 14AWG speaker wire, 100ft for my bedroom setup. Though I have to say that the 14AWG wire is a bit big for the spring clips on the speakers, so maybe try the 16AWG wire instead.

18 gage will work fine for your set up, actually. Get your HDMI cables from www.monoprice.com too. Make sure that they are HDMI 1.3 and Category 2 rated.
