Default Videomatica Sales - Vancouver

Really Hot deal if you live in the Vancouver Area. Get $50 Giftcard for $25 supported by Vancity.

If you are in the area and have no idea about the store they were a former Rental Store from 1982 that transitioned to sales in early 2010's and still going strong now using the same retail space as Zulu Records in Kits. They carry what people call film Buff material.

A link to their webpage may answer more questions on pricing etc of releases

https://videomaticasales.wordpress.com/

They also do special orders. Usually I would not post them in deals as Amazon and London Drugs or even Sunrise have better Prices but when you can get a Criterion for Under $25 (%50 off) that is a win in my books in Canada.

See quote of post from their Facebook Post.

"$25 FREE MONEY!!

It’s “Shop Local” week sponsored by VanCity (and you don’t have to be a VanCity member). Get $25 off FREE, courtesy of VanCity, when you purchase $50 (or more) in a gift certificate (one per user) at the Videomatica “Shop Local” link.

Step 1: Head to the Videomatica “Shop Local” link: https://supportlocalbc.com/products/videomatica

Step 2: Spend $50 or more on a gift certificate for you (or someone else).

Step 3: Use promo code VANCITYLOCALBIZ at checkout.

Step 4: VanCity will take $25 off. And you (or someone you buy it for) get to spend $50 (or more) at Videomatica, with NO EXPIRY DATE.

Hurry, you CAN ONLY BUY these discounted gift certificates UNTIL AUG 12!"

I went to Videomatica for the first time yesterday. It's a nice shop. They have a lot more stuff than I imagined. They just redeveloped their website a few months ago, so you can actually search the titles. But it is a work in progress. There is way more in-store inventory than they have posted online. I saw a good sized used section too.

I was pressed for time, so I couldn't stay very long. I only bought 3 items: Santa Claus (1959), Jingle Bell Rocks!, and Steel Dawn. I'll need to go back again.

I was looking for a copy of the new Almodovar film starring Penelope Cruz, Parallel Mothers, & didn't find it at my local Walmart yesterday - maybe because it is foreign language? Then called the Sunrise at Metrotown, & they said it didn't even show up in their computer. But they suggested I try Videomatica. Sure enough they had copies. Also didn't realize that they had moved to Broadway near Ontario. For me, it is a better location than their old spot in Kitsilano. I park my car & take the train into the city from the burbs for work, and now they are just a 10 minute bus ride from my office. If I wanted to walk, Google says 30 minutes. Anyways, made an excuse & left work early today to go pick up a copy. Was $24.99 - cheaper than Amazon!
Edit: their prices on other things, like some recent Criterions seemed high. $45ish+

I discovered Videomatica in December. I've dropped by a few times already. I pass by on the way to/from work. Sometimes I just phone on the way home and they'll hold a title for me at the counter.

Their local area is still quite a mess with the construction of a new subway line. But whenever it is finished, a new station will be nearby. It will be easier to reach Videomatica. The guys I met seemed pretty cool, so I hope the new subway line will bring them more customers.

Sale Friday Nov. 17th - 18th
20% all new items* & 50% off all used items
In store only!
*Off white sticker price

If you haven't been their in sometime they are now Located at Guelph St near Broadway.

I recently trade-in some titles and was very happy with the credits given and had some decent prices I don't purchase a whole lot new but their used section is worth a trip and some good pricing on boutique items that I picked up with my credit.
