to answer ur question peter.. no store can opt out the the sale, all canadian stores from halifax to vancouver have the same promo deals across the board. some stores are much slower than others in implementing, making their staff aware and advertising the promotions which is why unfortunately alot of time customers can have difficulty getting a standard correct answer across the board.

and yes crowshow.... anytime your having difficulty with blockbuster employees not believing you, the best thing to do is ask them to check their "mag" which every store is suppose to have and the mag details all the promotions and sales going on in the country for that month and what all stores should do to follow them. now in this case the mag would tell the employees the names of the titles on sale, but not the prices cuz those are sent out via email update. which is why checked both on my last shift sunday and just combined the two for you guys in this thread to make it simple and easy, rather than having to question a random blockbuster employee about every title on sale and for what price.

finally - thanks for the kind words mark. In the last few years in working for the company i've realized blockbuster has alot of flaws in how its setup and advertises promotions and what information it gives out to customers, and how it treats them. so i do my best here to try and correct their mistakes and give them a helping hand, but moreso give you guys a headsup on how to get good deals whenever they have em, cuz i know i love any place that provides me with good customer service and will always want to go back there. i wouldn't mind one day moving into their headoffice (if their still around) and make the changes i see they need so badly at the store level to provide customers like yourselves with the service that will make you happy to re-visit.

and as for the $5 off coupons... yeah, most people get them through the movie buyers bonus (which is exactly what was mentioned before, if you have a blockbuster membership, you simply add your email address to the accnt and make all your purchases under there. every $50 you spend they sent you a $5 coupon off movie any purchase in the store. but often times they have coupons available in newspaper adds or most recently for the month of april, there are coupons in the new release movie rentals ($5 off any retail dvd/ bluray purchase) and ($3 off pv purchase dvd/bluray) i myself have found 2 coupons in my recent rentals of tale of despereaux and doubt last week from my store. i'm sure their meant as promo offers for customers across the country, but heck i snagged em for myself and plan to get some good saving out of them :-)

so just keep your eyes and ears open and these extra coupon deals are always around to be had at blockbuster. they love coupon promos! lol

The majority of people were disappointed with Burn After Reading. Some of the humour is quite subtle. I loved it and it was the first blu I ever bought. Malkovich was excellent.

i too actually really enjoyed burn after reading. saw it in theaters and there was an audio sync issue. the g/f was very disapointed, but i blocked it out and actually enjoyed the movie alot. the humor is kinda dark, and the story very well written. similar comparison to fargo. i'm really on the fence about buying this one. the price is GREAT, but i already own it on dvd.. not sure if its worth the upgrade.

I swore I wouldn't upgrade any DVDs I already owned, and I wouldn't blind buy.

I ordered four movies today (two blind buys), and three others arrived from Amazon UK (one blind buy and one rebuy). Then I went to SiG and bought Memento which I already owned on DVD.

On to Plan B. Buy everything in sight.

i have over 2000 lol

i have been lowering the number lately though since i have decided to go blu-ray. when all is said and done my # of blu-rays will be much lower...cant keep having it use up as much space as it is using

FYI blockbuster should also have Twilight, Punisher War zone amongs other out PV'ed.

I picked up Punisher war zone for 7.99 (sort of...it was 17.99 and i 'gave' them a blu-ray movie i've had for over a year and never have opened from one of the blu-ray 5 movie promotion)

IIRC, they have a BB membership, maybe a pay per year membership? for every $50 spent @ BB they get a $5 off coupon...also from newspapers apparantly. i buy most of my stuff from Rogers, FS, Best Buy, amazon and more recently from chcanada, thinking i may have to start hitting up BB, these coupons are pretty good

That's for a Blockbuster rewards membership, which has coupons for movie rental discounts/free popcorn/etc. The $5 movie buyer's bonus is free...all you do is give your email to sign up and every $50 in purchases get's you a $5 off coupon that is emailed to you.
