Not quite that simple. It all depends on if the dev has a PS5 enhanced version.

Sony has said that all games from July has to work on PS5 but says nothing about devs offering PS5 enhanced versions of PS4 releases.

Then taking Cyberpunk as an example, they won't have a next gen version at launch. They wont commit to a 2021 launch so could be 12 months+ before a proper PS5/XSX version is released.

But they have said there will be a PS5 enhanced version of the PS4 release at launch so that's something.

At the end of the day it is up to the developer how they handle the releases so will have to look at it on a release by release basis.

Got it. Well at least for Avengers and Cyberpunk it should work. I have both preordered at Best Buy which is why I ask. I may cancel Avengers and just wait for a price drop closer to the PS5 launch.

But I still have Best Buy Gamers Unlocked so Im getting it cheaper and the $10 preorder so I may keep it.

Havent really followed anything on the game, hopefully its good.

Sweet, sweet salty tears

Honestly, the truth is that the amount of entitled crybabies in the modern era is unbelievable. There's so many more valid things to actually get up in arms about but they choose to make their superficial stands for BS digital content only being on Playstation like the past 20 years of gaming haven't taught them anything. Morons.

Exactly. This is business. Sony is in this to compete and win people to their platform and they are going to leverage every advantage they have at their disposal to do so, just like MS will. This isn't anti-consumer. It's anti-Xbox/pro-PlayStation consumer and as a PlayStation owner, I couldn't be happier as I feel that my investment in the PlayStation platform just continues to pay off.

It's never nice when something you really like isn't available on the platform you've opted to sign up to, but it's how companies differentiate themselves. It's business. Moaning about this deal is like moaning that you can't watch Umbrella Academy on Disney+, or play Halo on a PlayStation!!

If you want it all, you gotta pay the money

Exactly. It would be like me crying over the fact that Hellblade 2 isn't coming to PS5. All is fair in Gaming and War. MS ponied up the cash to buy Ninja Theory and Sony didn't. Oh well.

Likewise Sony buying Insomniac Games and not MS when the studio had done an exclusive for them in the form of Sunset Overdrive. Truth is that morons moaning about this are the dame ones that don't look at how HBO or Disney + & Netflix etc. lock their own content to single platforms.

Then the article i linked, these whingers act as if having multiple consoles entitles them to content across all. Hell, they won't let you use an Xbox game on a PlayStation even for a 3rd party title and they think Sony shouldn't use minor cosmetic etc. content to bolster their sales.

Oh, and did i already call them Morons

Still cant get past the actors voices and the character designs... Wish this would have been the MCU characters and their voices.

I think XBox should get Deadpool and Green Lantern exclusively just for laughs 😂

If they went with the MCU characters they would have to follow that canon. Doing what they've done means they can follow their own path story wise etc.

1. Not child friendly so I doubt it
2. Not sure how they'd manage to get the rights for a DC character to appear in a Marvel game

I thought this game was confirmed to have next-gen upgrade support?

Still on fence with this game.

Edit

Oops.

I see it’ll be 60fps with Dynamic 4K Rez.

Lmao! I'm just sitting here trying to wrap my head around what it would cost to hire Robert Downy Jr, Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Jeremy Renner, and Tom Holland for their likenesses and to do voice over work for this game!

It would be worth it. I bet there are a lot of people who would be more excited to play if the characters looked and sounded like the actors. Sony should totally pay for Tom Holland to really stick it to Xbox players

Pulled trigger on the game.

I like Crystal Dynamics. Liked their visuals on their Rise of Tomb Raider game. Am not expecting a great experience on PS4 Pro but am optimistic of the PS5 upgrade.

I'm not sure it would.
This game may sell well, but a best seller it isn't going to be.

Adding the wage of all those actors, nah......although it may have given them all some work during lockdown..

Ya need a square account to access this game.

That’s what will hurt it long term. I don’t like separate subs just to play a PS4 game.

But the account is free, yes? You're signing up so they can nab some data, there's no additional fee, surely?

There's not. I had to do it when I did my free trial of FF14 Online. There's no charge for it.
