Just watched this for the first time... A scene with three women chained up, yup that's Franco.. but wait, they're all wearing clothes?! I watched Oasis of Zombies the other night and noticed that one was also very tame on that front.

Both movies were still mildly entertaining, in that strange mix of ineptness and surrealism that Franco usually pulls off. Both are bottom of the barrel Franco. Fans should still watch these but don't try to convert anyone with them.

Looks as though Cecilia is getting a BR release in August, as well as a standard edition of Eugenie, both from Blue Underground. Plus, Full Moon are releasing Fall of the Eagles on Blu Ray!

I never watched the DVDs but both BDs are great releases, about as good as it gets.

I have both the Mondo DVDs and the Blu-rays, but have not had a chance to compare them. They are both available on Amazon.fr, but cheaper to buy from Le Chat last time I checked. I bought mine from them close to a month and a half ago, and they dispatched them pretty much the next day. They were packed well and arrived in perfect shape. I highly recommend ordering directly from them. Their service was fantastic. It took about 23 days to arrive in Rhode Island. Not bad at all.

thanks for the info. ordered from le chat and it came out to $51 for both, including shipping. which is a pretty good deal anyway.

lorna is one of my fave franco films, but going in blind with sinner: the secret diary of a nymphomaniac. early 70s franco is the best though, so looking forward!

Thanks to a generous member of this forum I watched Countess Perverse for the first time.

It's a fun Franco film that I hope gets another release someday. Far from his worst; also not his best, fans should enjoy this one.

I'm not sure that there is an entry level Franco film, but this isn't it, unless ample nudity is all one requires....

What would folks recommend as the most accessible Jess Franco movies? Something more faster paced than movies like Vamypros Lesbos and Night Has A Thousand Desires.

Yeah, I'd agree - if you want something more traditionally-paced and classic, go for the early gothics. Or, the Harry Alan Towers films like Eugenie or Count Dracula. For outright sleaze, the Dietrich period with all the women in prison films which were still conventionally made compared to some of his other stuff.

In fairness though, I love Vampyros Lesbos!

Bloody Moon is very entertaining. I also have a soft spot for Mansion of the Living Dead which plays like a more sexually perverse Blind Dead film.
