Default Michael Myers mostly Mask-less for HALLOWEEN 2

In an even greater departure from the originals (which may or may not be a good thing), it has been revealed that Michael Myers will spend 70% of Halloween 2 without a mask on.
Quote:
Wayne Toth, speaking from his make-up FX trailer, tells me we will see Michael Myers spend at least seventy-percent of the sequel without the mask. Myers, as played by Tyler Mane, will appear as the disheveled, bearded hulk we've seen in leaked set photos. "That's Michael's new look for a lot of the film. Fans will be shocked. They seem pretty responsive to it. But it's like anything else, as long as you're doing something cool, people get it."

The film is set roughly two years after Zombie's remake. Between films I'm told Myers has been living in the wild, exposed to the elements. A pic of Myers that was shown to me found him beneath a ragged hoodie, hair covering his dirtied face. He actually sorta resembles Zombie during his Hellbilly Deluxe days.

Toth assures us fans will see new interpretations of the Myers mask. "There are a couple different versions of the mask, but none of them are the same mask from the first film. He wanted to take them a step further, even though one of them is basically supposed to be the last mask. We've changed it anyway. Then towards the end of the film is the current version of the mask which is a lot different from any of them we've seen. People are going to be surprised when they see it. It's going to thrown the Myers fans for a loop."

I never had any desire to see the original and this puts me off even farther from wanting to see the sequel, but I do have to admit Zombie's interpretation of the movies is very intriguing. What does everyone else think?

I'm from the "old school" and think Rob Zombies versions suck. The first one wasn't that far from the original except they gave Michael Myers more of a back story and turned him into a little white trash thug who snapped.

i still hold carpenter's halloween as one of the top horror movies. never saw zombies so i don't want to pass final judgment, but based on the previews and reviews it looked terrible. not sure why it needed be remade to begin with

Exactly. But of course we all know slasher movies aren't the most original films around, but they could have at least renamed the killer and the movie.

I agree it sucked. One of the things thats makes the original so good is it's lack of back story. I still not sure why he had to come from a white trash background in the remake unless that is all that Zombie knows, just watch his other 2 films...

Look at the Bible....
I take it you have never read the Bible in any version. If you had you would know all versions, King James, New King James, NIV and all other versions are exactly the same except for the words used. There are NO additions or exaggerations in one version compared to another.

If you like Zombies versions of Halloween, then fine that's you opinion, but I seriously doubt it will stand the test of time the way John Carpenters has.

i actually enjoyed robs version of halloween....i dont look at it as a remake per se but on its own basis and thought it was really good. got it on release day on dvd and blu-ray......i cant wait to see the new one and i like that he is taking it and making it more of his own.....i dont understand why people would have a problem with this. i think he does a great job on every movie i have seen of his and i dont think this will be any different

There probably is a reason why he doesn't have his mask either in this film I am guessing. He will probably still have alot of his face covered throughout the film keep in mind as his hard is about 3 feet long lol. Its not like he is walking around like a clean shaven maniac. I always give Zombie's films a chance I did enjoy the "remake" for what it was, and that also means I do not compare it to the original for that is what he did NOT want anyone to do. The only thing that scares me though is if this movie makes bank (which horror movies always do) how long are they going to stretch this franchise out for? I thought Rob was going to do his other projects which must be on hiatus now due to the big check I am sure they are giving Mr. Zombie for doing this movie. Its worth a try and to me his version of Halloween was a lot better than most of this horror (if you can call it that nowadays) junk that is hitting the theaters.

I made a huge mistake in seeing the first one! There's no way I'm making that mistake again. Zombie would have to pay me to see it!

i thought she shot him in the head at the end of the last one because rob said he did not want to make any more Halloween movies thats why he had michael killed at the end of the movie so he would not have to do another gess money talks

zombie couldn't pay me to see either one of his halloween movies or any of his movies in fact. it's not my cup of tea really and from what i'm hearing, it sounds like her butchered what is considered a classic. some things should be left up to the imagination. i've never been a fan of shock horror or shock value entertainment.

That is a pretty badass prototype for a "new" mask idea even though I dont see where he states that this looks nothing like the old one cause it looks like a more decayed version of what he wore in the remake.
