This looks like the kind of rack I have seen here at a couple Shoppers Drug Marts (also owned by Loblaws). Not every Shoppers has them, & I don't know how they decide where to put them. Anyways, saw a copy of Raging Bull for $6.99 at one, so while mostly the same stuff (a LOT of DreamWorks animation), occasionally a gem.

[QUOTE=chaingunsofdoom;17971989]There's a new metal rack at 130th location. Some different titles. Too many to type obviously. It has four sides and the middle sections were all DVDs. BDs only on the ends.
[Show spoiler]

Uploaded a pic, but imgur is flipping them horizontally, so just one: https://imgur.com/a/VX3PJAi

Disney Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast and Ant-man have PV stickers on back. $9.99. So is Lady Bird, Little Stranger and Mary Queen of Scots.

$4.99 for Tale of Tales. Cadillac Records. Moon. Friday night lights. American Tale 2. Grand Piano. Vice. Savage Dog. Solomon Kane. Bagman. Hall Pass. Wild Horses. Without a Paddle 2. Role Models. American. Sin City. Alexander Final Cut. Duchess. Fast Times. DragonBall Evo. Maggie. Forger. Aloha. All Saints. Maps to the Stars.

$6.99 for Edge of Seventeen. Beauty and the beast non-Disney. Mi Ghost Protocol Metal Pack. Batman Begins. Man of Steel. Tomb Raider. Enders Game. Let's Be Cops, Rio, Survivor, Monsters vs Aliens, Blue Jasmine, Changing Lanes, Kung Fu Pandas, Bourne movies, Hulk, Nebraska, Life of Pi, Mirror Mirror, Everything, Blue Brothers 2000, various Harry Potters, Thomas the Tank.

Many thanks to @chaingunsofdoom for alerting me of the refresh of titles at Superstore. I grabbed most of the 3D movies that were available at my local store. Not the best movies necessarily, but at least they were cheap!
  • Skyscraper 3D ($10)
  • Escape From Planet Earth 3D ($5)
  • Dr. Seuss' The Lorax 3D ($5)
  • Sing 3D ($10)
  • Thunder and the House of Magic 3D ($7)
  • The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader ($7)
Sing 3D was a carry-over from the previous stock of Blu-Ray titles, I believe. There was also a copy of I, Robot 3D, but I didn't think it worthwhile to buy that one. If anyone finds some other, different 3D titles at their Superstore, I'd be interested to hear what else might be out there to look for.

Most of the Blu-Ray items were on the bottom couple of shelves, or tucked behind the more prominent DVD boxes on the higher shelves. Quite a few of the Blu-Rays were "previously viewed" items, so one had to take care and pay attention to the stickers on the reverse of the cases.

If you like those, you should check out your Canadian Tire, Shoppers Drug Mart or Giant Tiger. They have those titles and more 3D if you are looking.

I’m in Quebec and in the last 3-4 years, I’ve only been to one Canadian Tire that did not have BDs/DVDs/games

Here in NB, I only ever see DVDs and games at Canadian Tire.

I almost always see cheap Blu-rays at Giant Tiger, Shoppers Drug Mart, and No-frills.
When I'm lucky, I also occasionally see Blu-rays at Dollarama, Jean Coutu, and Atlantic Super-Store.

I'm in Alberta, and the Canadian Tire thing sounds like it's a Quebec and Maritimes thing. I saw about 20 really sad looking, mostly kids DVDs on a table at the entrance of my local Canadian Tire around Christmas last year. Otherwise, no, I've never seen movies or videogames at CT.

Yup, I did a pass through the local Shoppers about a month ago collecting 3D's! I don't think I've seen videos at the dollar stores here.

I'm also in Alberta and I have only seen one location carry blu-rays (or any movies for that matter).

I bought one Previously Viewed title (The Inglorious Bastards (1978)) ($4.99) and it only has one very faint scratch while my 4K copy of The Lego Movie ($9.99) that was supposed to be brand new has multiple scratches on it including one that goes half way across the disc. I must be very unlucky. Not even going to bother trying to return The Lego Movie. Will just eat the loss.

You found a 4K disc? Haven't seen any of those.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure even the "new" items have be previously opened up. Too many discs with smudges on the surface. A few significantly scratched (usually the DVDs). Given the price, as long as the Blu-Ray discs play correctly, I'm not too concerned.

To be honest, when I buy actual new stuff at major retailers (e.g. Best Buy, Sunrise), quite often there are scratches on the discs, particularly those loaded into SteelBooks. Quality control is getting poor these days.

Yeah, it was the 4K disc. Also saw a couple copies of the Pacific Rim Uprising blu-ray steelbook.

Honestly, it is only the WB titles I have problems with. A while ago I found Pacific Rim 4K at Giant Tiger and the disc was also not in the best of shape. But the digital codes always work so I'm guessing there is some mishandling going on at the factory (I have gotten scratched discs from new blu-rays from Amazon and Best Buy in the past so it is possible) and I have just been unlucky to get a couple damaged ones. All my other discs from other studios have been in brand new condition and I buy a ton of these bargain bin movies.

This weekend is a tax free sale at Superstore. Saw one of these racks fully stocked today. Passed on most, but surprised to see full seasons on blu-ray of TV shows Glee, Southpark, and Dexter (almost whole series) at $9.99 each.

Westhills RCSS has a Boss Baby 3D if you're looking for it? $9.99 and I placed it by Thunder and Skyscraper 3D.

The selection there is probably better due to obscure titles compared to the other location.

I saw a US 3D-edition for the same price at Jean Coutu a few months ago, and now I regret not getting it.

I was there again last week, and of course it wasn't still there. Oh well.
Last night I ordered the 4K-edition from Amazon for $12.99. (same price as the BD)

Saw Central Intelligence 4K today for $9.99. Didn't pick it up though as I already have it on blu-ray and didn't want to risk it being scratched up like the previous WB 4K titles that I have bought.
