USA Peninsula (Train to Busan Sequel) - November 24, 2020

Well Go USA will be releasing Peninsula, the follow-up to Train to Busan (2016) on November 24th.

Quote:
Four years after South Korea's total decimation in TRAIN TO BUSAN, the zombie thriller that captivated audiences worldwide, acclaimed director Yeon Sang-ho brings us PENINSULA, the next nail-biting chapter in his post-apocalyptic world. Jung-seok, a soldier who previously escaped the diseased wasteland, relives the horror when assigned to a covert operation with two simple objectives: retrieve and survive. When his team unexpectedly stumbles upon survivors, their lives will depend on whether the best-or worst-of human nature prevails in the direst of circumstances.

I'd strongly recommend to watch this before buying. I loved Train to Busan and had very high expectations for this - they were not met. One of the worst new films of 2020.

Agree, will not be watching this again and definitely not adding it to my Korean collection. Such a letdown. There is a great video on youtube called "Train to Busan: How to kill a character", which explains why Train to Busan is such a great movie. Seems like director Yeon Sang-Ho just didn't care at all about that in Peninsula. Instead he makes some Resident Evil type drivel with lots of action and bad CGI. I'm beginning to think he's a one-hit wonder after the terrible Psykokinisis and now this. And calling it "Train to Busan presents" should be a warning sign.

His earlier animated films like The Fake, The Pig and the prequel to Train to Busan are all worth seeing. Agreed that his post Train to Busan work is s##t.
