"Eastbound & Down" - Blu-ray Forum

Well damn it's been awhile since I was able to report about a show getting picked up instead of canceled. I figured this was on the chopping block as well. Atleast Danny is being given a chance, I gotta find out what is next for Kenny Powers, and I'm just glad that for once You're Out And He's ****ing In!

HBO picks up second season of its polarizing, F-bomb dropping comedy; production begins later this year.

There are pretty much only two ways to feel about HBO's new comedy Eastbound & Down; viewers either love it or hate it. But apparently there are enough of those who love Eastbound & Down to warrant a second season, as HBO has picked it up.

Eastbound & Down stars the equally loved/hated Danny McBride (Tropic Thunder, The Fist Foot Way) as Kenny Powers, a former major-league pitcher-turned-self-help specialist who ends up teaching P.E. at a high school. In the finale of the short six-episode series, Powers got a second shot at the big leagues.

The show is produced by Will Ferrell and Adam McKay, who together created the Web site FunnyOrDie.com.

I'm glad they picked this up I felt short changed with a 6 episode season. I gotta see how they treat the next season with the news at seasons end.

I watched the first 3 episodes but didn't finish the season. Probably will watch the rest now that it's been picked up. I thought the first 3 were decent, not great, but I'll watch the rest.

Haha yeah I know, I didn't know it was the season finale till after the credits, and I was like WTF! 6 episodes?!?!?! **** YOU HBO I'M KENNY POWERS!

If you guys feel like having a great laugh check out the link below. I found it on the official Eastbound HBO site. It has you put in your name, and the name of a friend, and a few other choices about them, and you can preview before you send it, and it's a phone call from Kenny Powers. I chose to have me owe Kenny Powers money for beer, and Kenny calls my buddy to collect the money from him. He even says he's coming out to Washington state where I live to a community college as part of his tour. Basically fill in all the blanks and have fun, it's pretty damn good

I found this on AICN as part of an interview with Jody Hill about Observe and Report, it's from a couple weeks back.

Quint: Drew was telling me that with EASTBOUND, you had the six episodes and that’s what you guys wanted to do. Are you feeling any pressure for doing another season. Would you do another season?

Jody Hill: Yeah, we would maybe do one more season, but I think that’s going to be it.

Quint: Like OFFICE (UK) a little bit?

Jody Hill: Yeah, we might do maybe 8 episode, but I’m not sure. You could definitely end the series after these 6 and that’s it, you know what I mean? I’m excited for you to see next weeks, the season finale, because it ****s you up a little bit, like you really don’t need anymore. But I would maybe do one more season, because one season is kind of awesome, but then two is like “OK, we didn’t get cancelled…” (laughs)

Quint: “We are going way by choice on this one, they’re not forcing this out…”

Jody Hill: Maybe, but I don’t know. It’s pretty exciting though. It’s more like a chance to make a really long movie. That’s the way we looked at it.
Quint: I think Kenny Powers is probably one of the more iconic characters. People love the characters that don’t have a filter.

Jody Hill: People respond to that and I don’t know what it is, because I consider him pretty gross, but people come up to Danny all of the time “Kenny Powers! Let me buy you a shot!”

This is good news. I really got into the first season, it's hillarious. I was a little disappointed it was, what, like 6 shows before the season was over. But good nontheless.
