Default Pioneer Avic-f90bt

so. i'm thinking about buying this stereo but i've heard some reviews that it has a slow load time. does anyone else have or know of a good double din stereo that includes, navigation, dvd, and satellite radio all in one?? as well as ipod control?? maybe something with a quick load time

i heard that either way with a navigation unit, you're gonna have a slow start up time.

thoughts??

I have the worst case of dandruff right now...I helped plant another 200 vines on Saturday w/the inlaws and my head was fresh shaven. I got burnt to a crisp. I now have the head of a leper.

I have the 700 whcih was plagued by slow load times as well. Pioneer released a firmware upgrade to fix the problem. I held off for 7 months before buying this for my wife's Pilot.

Don't hesitate. it is cool as hell. I am one of those people who like to have every feature but opted for the 700 with this one instead. The main difference is the lack of DVD ability and the one year warranty instead of 2 for the 90.

I can still play video using my iPod or SD card so carrying physical media to and from the car was not necessary for me.

I have it with XM, iPod cable, and back-up camera.

Start-up times:
music (last source selected)- 3 seconds
ability to switch source - 20 seconds
back-up camera - 5 seconds

It's not slow anymore. And new ones are all shipping with the new firmware.

there is a site that goes into great detail about these units but I am not sure if i can post it here.

6th Avenue will beat any internet price (pricegrabber at least)

the 700 was almost $600 most places and they gave it to me for $369.

Well if you bring in your alarm and this new deck, I'm sure any shop will take that install job. That's a lot of work to do for a ride, so they'll do it. Hopefully they won't ream you for it, though.

HAHA yeah i'm pretty good at installing the stereo on my own as i've done a few in the past. but i'm not sure what extra needs to be done for the GPS to work.

probably nothing....mine just sits there on the dash...no wiring anything.

It really should be that easy for the unit.
