Default 10 Commandments w/Heston BluRay?

Has there been any rumors or info on when the original 10 commandments with Charlton Heston will be released on Blu Ray? The last love this amazing film received was the 50th anniversary release in 2004.

Thank you.

The last thing I heard was from back in December. You can check it out at http://www.thedigitalbits.com/rumormill.html (scroll down to the 12/3/08 entry).

This is one of Paramount's jewels. I expect it will receive an impressive blu ray release. I can't wait either.

and what I love... all the extras are real-people... this film was huge. NO CGI... George Lucas should watch this film.

I would love it on Blu-Ray... just to have my mom/dad over to watch... my mom loves it!

Could you imagine if they made this movie today, the exact same way they made back in the day... it would cost 1 billion dollars...

George Lucas? Hell...almost any movie today has some sort of CG in it. I wouldnt single out ole George on this one.

If there was an internet back then when it came out, instead of CGI, there would be a bunch of people complaining about all the "practical" generated images (PGI? ) - bluescreen, models, matte paintings, animation.

Movies are all about facades and trickery of one sort or another to tell a story. A matte painting is just as unreal as CGI.

Just watched this yesterday on my new Elite 111FD. The SD DVD looked pretty decent. A well done BD would be stunning! And I'd buy it in a micro second

and that is exactly why from the late 60's until the mid 90's you did not have movies of that type done, way to expensive. With CGI director's are now able to make huge scenes without the need to built giant sets and 10000 extras.
