USA Walker, Texas Ranger

Decided to collect the CBS/Paramount DVD separate season releases of Matlock and Touched by an Angel because of comments I'd read on Amazon about the complete series DVD releases.

I'm thinking about collecting the Chuck Norris series Walker, Texas Ranger, but wanted to know if the recent complete collection release in the States includes all of the seasons, the TV films and the Martial Law crossover episode.

My set includes all 9 seasons, and has the TV movie Trial By Fire which was the only TV movie made after the series ended. The set does NOT include the Martial Law episode, or the spin off series Sons Of Thunder

Hadn't yet checked whether what I was thinking was correct, that there was a spin-off series. Have the three pre-series TV films been released together in one set, or are they included in the complete collection set you've got? Did you notice any music edits or/and substitutions?

There's only one TV movie that started the series called One Riot, One Ranger. The 2 episodes seen after that were only one hour shows. CBS tried Walker out to see if it pulled better numbers than Raven starring Jeffrey Meek. Chuck won, Raven was cancelled and the network bought Walker for a full season starting that fall. The 2 hour pilot and the next 2 hour long episodes are considered the first season, and they are in the set.

I have not noticed any music edits or substitutions, however even though I recorded the entire run of the series off of CBS I rarely watched them after that. So if any music edits or substitutions were good enough I might not have noticed.

Thanks again, that's very helpful. I don't know a lot about the show, so it's understandable that I thought those two hour long episodes were TV films (or pilot TV films).

I knew that Sheree J. Wilson (who had left the original Dallas over a couple of years before One Riot, One Ranger originally aired in the States) starred on the series. Currently, I'm watching the fourth season of Matlock (along with Jake and the Fatman and Father Dowling Mysteries), which saw Clarence Gilyard Jr. join the cast (I read that he left Matlock to join Walker, Texas Ranger).

I know of one music change off hand because I saw it in a Youtube video. It's in the season eight finale, "Wedding Bells," where Walker and Alex get married. Singer Tracy Lawrence cameos as the wedding singer and, in the original broadcast version, performs his song "Just You and Me." (I believe I continued hearing that song when the episode was in reruns, too.) But a clip I saw from that scene taken from the DVD features a different song by a different performer. So there could be other music changes throughout the series.

Thanks for the info! I hope I still have my original VHS recording of that episode. At one time I had almost 4,000 VHS tapes taking up a lot of space. I started selling off lots of 25 or 30 at a time a couple of years back, and I know I did dump some Walker episodes.

I can't remember if it was Sky One which premiered Walker, Texas Ranger in the UK, but I know it's currently being repeated in the early hours on one of the CBS channels (either CBS Action or CBS Drama).

I haven't seen an single episode, so if I decide to get the complete collection/series DVD release (which I'm likely going to do), then I won't notice any music cuts, edits or substitutions.

Regarding ordering the complete collection/series DVD set from Deep Discount, there are going to be additional costs (it mentions it underneath the item price), in addition to the usual shipping costs etc.

Just double-checking, but has the short-lived spin-off Sons of Thunder had a physical media release?

Had a feeling that was the case. Maybe VEI could do a release of it?
