Noticed a few weeks ago that Clerks — which has a PHENOMENAL extras package on its physical copy — was $4.99 on sale but passed because my rule is bare bones purchases are not really worth it. Today I randomly checked and noticed that Clerks now has the full 5+ hours of extras (Snowball Effect doc, etc) that come on the physical release. Chasing Amy is also updated with the full boat of extras.
I am kicking myself for not purchasing now (holding out hope that the bare bones Collateral digital copy upgrades to 4K w/extras in two months) but also figured it was a thing and want to know A) if we have any heads up or if it’s random, and B) If we can get a list going of movies that don’t have extras or didn’t have extras but have since been updated with them. |

The Miramax catalogue has been bought by Paramount and they’ve gone on a relisting binge, so it’s possible that the $5 version has been replaced rather than updated. My copy of Sin City (in the UK) has the opposite situation, with the new listing losing all the extras. Some films are just absent at the moment, so hopefully there’s a process still underway and we’ll get good versions of everything by the time they’re done.

Yes.
Search in store and I get the offer to buy the film for £4.99 with no extras. The version in my library has more than 2 hours of featurettes. I can't remember if these are the same features that have always been on this release, I'm surprised the alternate cut isn't in there but I could just be misremembering that as I still have it on disc and it's on there. |

I’ve always wondered if/when movies that are bare bones update extras so this is very encouraging! |

Ireland has had Extras for a while and I’m just wondering if these are the same extras or have new been added? Can you post screen screen shots of each? Or list the features? |

It would be nice if Paramount added extras to some of their more recent 4K titles Like Days of Thunder and Shutter Island. Has there ever been a case where Universal has added extras? I am holding out on some digital copies for that reason.

UNIVERSAL to my knowledge has only upgraded the Jurassic Parks, The Bournes and the Big Lebowski. There might be a couple of more but I think that’s it.

Universal seems to be the worst with features. Not even the new Back To The Future 4K release got any features added. It’s to the point where I have to refresh when I see the extras logo on a Universal movie because my mind defaults to it being an error.
