Very happy this is happening - I’ve been hoping it would. I’m sure it’ll be a stunner.

Haven't seen it since theaters but I remember liking it. Might pick up on sale.

The Atmos mix will be worth the purchase alone!

Will pick it up just for Woody Harrelson's performance.

Just watched the BD again not even a month ago, so that's a bit of a timing bummer, but I am happy to see it's being upgraded because there are some compression anomalies (this is what Geoff D calls a 'fragile encode') that stood out to me that will surely be mitigated on a 4K platter.

Database link incoming.

"2012" was part of Sony's Poll V2.

If we going through Emmerich’s catalogue, then give me Stargate! I need more Spader and Russell in 4K!

This actually got the most votes on Sony's survey?

Sure it'll look amazing though.

hopefully this being released means that some of the other titles on the Sony UHD poll (particularly Muppets Take Manhattan) will be released!

I'm hoping it didn't get the most votes. I'm thinking it got enough votes to make it worth it and that it was in a convenient state of near readiness.

I am halfway through this on iTunes (4K / DV). It looks okay in parts. If memory serves me right, it does look a little bit odd probably due to excessive CGI.

It was available for Amazon UK prime customers as well for a while on 4K / HDR.

I vote for it in the Sony poll and it becomes a reality.

Can't argue with that.

Now where's Krull and Drive?

I don’t know. I never know who owns anything. I just write what I want on this board and hope putting it out there gets a release. It’s a crappy system but works for me.

I hope you're right, if this won out over some of the gems in the survey then any remaining faith I have in humanity will be rapidly dissolved (though I think several of said gems will end up in the CC vol. 2 box). That said, I did vote for Talladega Nights so I'm just as guilty of voting for shite as the next person. I'll see myself out.
