Upconverting DVD player? - Blu-ray Forum

What is a good one that isn't very expensive, I had to sell all of my blus and my PS3, so I will rent movies but don't have a upconverting DVD player.

Most of the consumer brands out there offer upconverting DVD players for less than $100. I used to have a Sony on my system which cost me $99 when I got it. Their recent "newer" model is around $70 to $75. They continue to get cheaper and cheaper as time goes on, and DVD technology begins to wane.

Remember to gain 1080p upconverted video, you must still use an HDMI cable.

So any of the Sony, Pioneer, Samsung, Onkyo players that are around $100 should be a good picture?

Out of those 4 choices, the Sony would give you the best bang for your buck.

That sucks dude. Been there done that several times. In time, you'll jump on the bandwagon again.

Check out Oppo. Their entry level player is $169.00. They have been highly rated.
