Oo, I'd love Barabbas, looking great on Blu-ray. Plus, Mackenna's Gold (1969), not a great western, but I have a soft spot for it...& The Long Ships (1964). Twilight Time used to release a lot of Sony newly remastered Columbia catalogue titles, & since they've been gone Sony catalogue releases seem a bit thin on the ground.

I have long hoped for "The Long Ships" with Richard Widmark, Sidney Poitier and Russ Tamblyn to finally make it to Blu-ray, and thought there was a pretty good chance over the years with Twilight Time. Sadly it never happened, but hope springs eternal!

A cross between the strange productions that J. Lee Thompson sometimes undertakes and the classic blockbuster that is usually entrusted to him, and a curious film, which manages to print a beautiful legendary character, almost from a fantastic cinema, to its plot, set in the time `` western. '' Splendid photography, magnificent use of sound and suitably epic music (by Quincy Jones, with the central theme sung by Jose Feliciano), with a fabulous cast of secondary, led by a sensual and unforgettable Julie Newmar ( they are none other than Eli Wallach, Edward G. Robinson, Raymond Massey, Lee J. Cobb, Burgess Meredith and Keenan Wynn).
