Default The Matrix Reloaded (2003) vs. Terminator 3 (2003) vs. Bad Boys II (2003)

Which summer 2003 action sequel do you think is the best?

I liked The Matrix Reloaded out of the three.

Matrix Reloaded by a mile.

Bad Boys II is fun but bad. Terminator 3 is just boring.

Reloaded easily. T3 is absolute garbage. BB 2 is ok.

Rise of the Machines

It’s not great, but I can’t even sit through those other two movies.

I haven't seen Bad Boys (clips never appealed), but have seen the other two at the cinema on release.

Slightly embarrassed now to admit that when I was younger and watched Matrix Reloaded, amidst huge Matrix hype, I thought it was just amazing. Then somehow, the enthusiasm died down a bit, realised it was not as good as the first and needlessly confusing in places as well as taking a direction I wasn't keen on. By the time the third film came out, hype was down and the ending was a damp squib.

Terminator 3 - huge excitement seeing it. It's nowhere as good as the previous two, but effectively uses the same formula. I thought the female terminator T-X and actress (Kristanna Loken) was fantastic. The story was really interesting and had a ballsy ending. Great to see Arnold back and some great stunts. Tonally a mess and doesn't move the franchise into new ground until the end. However, looking back at it now and having seen more subsequent Terminator films - it's a good film and the most re-watchable for me.

The Matrix Reloaded. Bad Boys II was just okay and Terminator 3 was stunning but forgettable.

T3. Reloaded and BB2 are good too, but Jonathan Mostow's film is just much more entertaining and memorable.

I was a bit surprised by the vote results but glad to see Matrix Reloaded in the lead.

They're all rubbish but The Matrix Reloaded has bits that are really cool. None of it adds up of course but as stand alone set pieces they're pretty good.

Felt like the Wachowskis had a bunch of random ideas and went straight to shooting without a completed script.

It seems like they've had that approach ever since Reloaded too.

The first Matrix is the only one of their films that I can say is, not just good, but genius!

It's always baffled me that they never managed to repeat that level of movie making, or even come close.

I disagree.

Bound, Speed Racer and Clout Atlas are all brilliant movies.

Among the Matrix sequels, I prefer both Revolutions and Resurrections, but all of them are unfairly maligned (albeit not as good as the original movie).

I voted for Bad Boys II, but The Matrix Reloaded is no slouch.

Directed by James McTeigue. Yes, I'm aware of the Wachowskis' hands on involvement.
