The original TMNT movie is in my top five favorite comic book adaptations!

As a kid, it was my least favorite because it didn't resemble the cartoon at all but once I read the original Eastman/Laird comics, I appreciated it much more. It's certainly darker and violent than expected which caught a lot of parents off guard and thus the demand for a lighter tone for the sequels, but the first film also had a lot of heart and emotion; the campfire scene is so moving, I'm on the verge of tears every time I watch it.

Glad you enjoyed it

TMNT is the only comic book I still buy regularly. I love these characters. Out of all the iterations made in comics, movies, tv shows, etc, I absolutely love the 2012 Nickelodeon show. That show not only ranks as one of my favorite cartoons, its one of my all time favorite shows PERIOD. It's such a well written show. Funny as hell one minute and bringing a tear to my eyes next. I've watched the entire run with my sons several times. It is also one of my most wanted shows on BLU! I hope they release it one day.

That was a great scene. It reminded me of Star Wars. The turtle suits look very good even today. Much better than the cgi they used in the new movies.

I like all 6 films so far and even hope we see another Bay Turtles film. The more Turtles, the better.

Are the new ones good? I was excited when they were first talked about but not anymore after they revealed how the turtles looked. I haven't watched them.

I enjoyed them, they were certainly different than the ones that came before. I am one of those that loved the 2006 film and consider it to be second best behind only the first film, for what that's worth.

TMNT (2007) was AWESOME! I loved that movie and would've welcomed some sequels to it. I also dug the animation style. I have all of the figures from that film.

Just popped in the Blu-ray for TMNT (1990) and I think it would clean up real nice in 4K! Probably will never happen but I can dream can’t I!?

Is it just me or the second movie (1991) was projected in 4:3 (1.33:1 AR) and they only introduced black bars in the Widescreen version? That's because I got a 4:3/fullscreen version and noticed (apparently) that no cuts in the left/right sides exist, and this is not possible.

The 4:3 is open matte, so there's extra image above and below the image, which was of course removed in the Widescreen.

That’s how most films in the 1.85 ratio are - they’re shot full but matted to widescreen when projected.

God, Shredder is really short in that movie!
