Looks great! I have very high hopes for this movie. Crowe is always a bad @ss in his movies and Ridley Scott in charge should equal awesomeness.

It's true, if Robin doesn't dress in drag at least once then it shouldn't exist as a Robin Hood movie.

Leo has been growing this since Gangs of New York, Catch Me If You Can AND Body of Lies.
Leo needs to start smoking some cigarettes to start looking his age. Yes since Gangs of New York..he is trying to look more masculine..lol..Its almost impossible with his baby face. In Romeo and Juliet he looks freaking 12 XD

Keanu has a hair problem ? Never noticed.. i will check out Matric tomorrow

....
Oh and Russel Crow is sadly getting old..He is fat now too D: He is one of my favorite actors..hope he lives longer

If you want to see Keanu's beard you should check out The Gift, one whole side is this patchy spiral and is quite frightening on a large screen haha. I'll see if I can find you a photo

EDIT: Here's a few:

Did you happen to look at the photo of Russell? He isn't fat he's slimmed down a lot, he gained like 40lbs for Body of Lies because Ridley asked him too and it took a long time to lose it all but he's back to his usual slimmer self.

Well, there are real people who can't grow facial hair and try anyway, so why can actors play people like that?

Do we really need another Robin Hood Film?! One of my faves is a live action Disney film called "The Story Of Robin Hood",it's only available on DVD when you redeem 750 Disney Movie Rewards points.it's pretty obscure I'm sure nobody here has even heard of it. Does'nt Ridley Scott think of using any other actors,he uses Russell Crowe in every film he does these days, there ARE plenty of other actors out there!

Those people should just give up, if you can't grow facial hair, shave it. That's just as bad as men who are balding and instead of just shaving their heads (they are men) they go for the ever so cool comb over

Yeah! And while he's at it, Chris Nolan should stop using Christian Bale in everything he does to! And Judd Apatow, get those bums outta your movies! LOL

That's why I said circa 1980. Actually, 1990 would work, too.

There are so many Robin Hood films already, agreed! How bout some original stories/ideas from Hollywood,is there any original stuff left? Plus what happened to Crowe in the Master and Commender sequel, there was supposed to be one, never happened,Ridley Scott could have made that one,it probably would have been awesome!

I doubt there's really been an original idea in Hollywood in 20 years.

But the Robin Hood legend is so diverse and unproven that how do you know which version you'll be getting from Ridley?

See now if he is remaking the exact same version as the Costner version I don't know how I'll feel about that, I don't think it could be any better. I'm very interested to see Ridley's take on it though.

Here are excerpts from many news articles about this movie, and I can assure you anything Ridley Scott makes will be a far cry from Prince of Thieves, besides this already sounds quite different. I'm just not sure about the PG-13 rating but hey, I have faith they can do it right. The big breaks in between paragraphs with * represents different stories, to prevent confusion of an incoherant article, lol.

*Russell Crowe toplines the movie, which is being billed as a retelling of the origins of the key characters of the Robin Hood legend. The drama, originally scripted by Ethan Reiff and Cyrus Voris and then rewritten by Brian Helgeland, has evolved into a Gladiator version of the Robin Hood legend, says Variety. Crowe starred in that film and Scott directed it.

The film will be shot at a $130 million budget, benefiting from favorable exchange rates and tax credits that come from shooting in the U.K. Scott will be aiming for a PG-13 rating.

*During a press conference, Crowe was asked about the project and its progress since back in July, it was reported (right here) that the project had been delayed despite Universal having already claimed November 9, 2009 as its release date.

"No, we haven't done that yet," Crowe responded to the reporter's query. "It's one of those things where we're taking our time with. You don't want to be doing Robin Hood unless you're going to be doing it really f*cking well. It's got to be the best one ever done otherwise you should do something else."

He also went on to say that he would not be wearing tights because according to their research, they hadn't been invented and wouldn't be for 300 years.

*In an attempt to clarify all the confusion from a few months ago about Russell Crowe playing multiple roles, Scott was eager to say that he had changed his mind, and that Crowe will simply portray the famed archer who rises from an unlikely background. "Robin Hood is in the army of Richard Coeur de Lion," he said of how we'll find the character early in the film "He is a bowman in the army of Richard Coeur de Lion."

"[Crowe as both Robin and the Sheriff of Nottingham] was an idea so far back, way back when at the time I had this proposed to me, and I read it and thought, 'I don't really know what it does for it, but it's alright'," Scott recalled of the now-abandoned idea. "It is better to simply have the evolution of a character called Robin Hood, who will come out of a point in the Crusades which is the end."

Plot Summary: Russell Crowe plays Robin of Loxley in an origin story of Robin Hood that hews close to historical facts of the period. Abandoned as a child, he finds community with the common people of Nottingham. Robin's abandonment and trust issues hamper his ability to fall in love. He meets his match in Marian (Blanchett), a strong, independent woman.

*William Hurt plays William Marshall, the Earl of Pembroke, a historical figure who was one of the most powerful men in Europe. Marshall was a servant to the Plantagenet kings and one of the best jousters of the era.

*The Universal/Imagine project, written by Ethan Reiff & Cyrus Voris and Brian Helgeland follows Robin from his early days in King Richard's army to his return to Nottingham to his creation of a band of mercenaries who challenge the sheriff and eventually try to prevent civil war.
