Human prodigy. Superhuman. Greatest martial artist in history. One of the most iconic and charismatic actors of all time.
What's your fave Bruce Lee movie? Happy birthday, DRAGON. Lee Jun-fan (Chinese: 李振藩; November 27, 1940 – July 20, 1973), commonly known as Bruce Lee (Chinese: 李小龍), was a Hong Kong American actor, director, martial artist, martial arts instructor and philosopher. He was the founder of Jeet Kune Do, a hybrid martial arts philosophy drawing from different combat disciplines that is often credited with paving the way for modern mixed martial arts (MMA). Lee is considered by commentators, critics, media, and other martial artists to be the most influential martial artist of all time and a pop culture icon of the 20th century, who bridged the gap between East and West. He is credited with helping to change the way Asians were presented in American films. |

Happy Birthday to the legend Bruce, may he rest in peace.
I'll be watching Enter the Dragon tonight to celebrate it, followed by No Retreat No Surrender (which isn't Bruce Lee himself but someone portraying his ghost when the main character visits his grave for help). |

Happy 80th Birthday to someone who's been one of my icons for several decades!
I live in the UK, and when I was young Lee's films were only legally available in butchered versions, removing all scenes of nunchaku and even other bits. I'll always have a very happy memory of the day [I was about 16] when 'bootleg' videos of uncut versions of all his movies popped through my letterbox. Favourite Lee movie -well, it varies, but these days The Way of the Dragon tends to be top for me. |

Hard to believe The Green Hornet has not yet been released on home video or been made available for streaming.

You are right.
However, there's some sort of 'best of' version of the Green Hornet on DVD. It consists of two "movies" edited together from the series called The Green Hornet and The Fury of the Dragon. It's definitely made for Bruce Lee fans as it says Bruce Lee as Kato and not the other guy ![]() There's also some Bruce Lee documentaries on the first disc. ![]() ![]() |

Of the few Bruce Lee films made, Return of the Dragon is my favorite. Not Enter the Dragon, but Return of the Dragon.
Bruce Lee is a legend, though I'll say Jackie Chan is equally a legend, as well as many other genius martial artists over the years and now. |

I can't believe the impact and legacy this icon has left to so many people, his death almost 50 years after...

Would love to buy that Criterion set but it's region A only so perhaps when I have a new Panasonic UHD player I might. Way of the dragon for me. But also because of Chuck Norris. It's a more climactic fight than the one that caps Enter the dragon.

----- About Lee, his daughter has made a nice profit on her dad by making him as saintly as possible. I love Bruce Lee but it's obvious he wasn't a saint. The guy's life is fascinating as hell. And we've still not had a more realistic take on the guy. His trial and errors, along w/ his successes, make him a great story. The guy was human and there's an amazing story not told yet on his life. Seeing Lee depicted as this great Kung Fu god is boring. Dude had great aspirations but he ****ed up all the same.
