It's still coming. I don't recall the latest date it is going to take off like a rocket and dominate the market, but look for it sometime in the future. Consumers have been anxiously awaiting its arrival since the first time Warner announced TotalHD. Only one major studio will be involved now, Warner, but Warner has been touting how great supporting both formats is and that will be the ultimate in that pursuit. Ya, and the Great Pumpkin is going to rise out of my pumpkin patch this Halloween.

this has been discuses like a million times please use serch button(next to new posts) but in short waner is stilll developing a dule layer dule format so 50 gig blu-rays and 30 gig hd dvd can be on same disc. its also speculatd that sucses rate of making a disk is around 40%(no real facts to back that up)

I'm not sure why any of us care. This does nothing to benefit consumers. Unless you have an HD DVD player in one room and blu-ray in another. Other than that, it only benefits the studio printing on it as its probably cheaper then printing both. And it benefits stores since they only need 1 shelf space for the movie.

That is the #1 driving force behind it. Less redundant discs on shelves mean more space for more discs

Total HD is a stupid idea I don't want to pay for an HD DVD side when I won't use it. These disks are going to be higher priced.

I say the people who have Blu Ray pick up Blu Ray, the people who have HD DVD pick up HD DVD and those who have both decide which version they want.

The costs would probably hurt both formats. Won’t happen while we are in war. Although, surprise, surprise I remember desperate Amir commenting on the positives earlier in the year.

Dare I say, if this whole thing ends up in a stalemate this is maybe what we're going to end up with! And even then it probably won’t last long, with dual players.

"If being Dual Format is wrong, then I don't want to be right." Quote from Mr Neutral

I dont have any problem with people being neutral. I though can not in good conscious do it. I want to get this war over with as quikley as possible. That is why I am buying Transformers in SD. Damn you Paramount.

It's been put off to Q4 2008. That means it's dead. Why? Because both formats will not survive and one will hit the dust by then.

Well Warner is certainly in the drivers seat to make that happen.
