Default Uncompressed Audio via analog cables?

I was reading inside the cover of one of my Bluray discs and it says you can enjoy up to 7.1 uncompressed lossless audio via HDMI and if you don't have an HDMI hook up you can still have impressive uncompressed lossless audio via analog cables. Is this true? If so is it possible for the PS3?

no. The PS3 doesn't have 6/7 channel analog out, and it can't be added because it's something that has to be built into the board

Most dvd players and x.1 receivers have 5.1 analog jacks that connect using rca cable. The jacks are only standard 5.1 - front (2), center (1), surround (2), and low frequency (.1). It can be used to send lossless audio for whatever hi-def player supports it (very few), but unfortunately the PS3 does not have analog 5.1 out (just analog stereo).

The panasonic has 7.1 analog out and when fed into my arcam receiver the sound is amazing. The main reason i went with the panny was for this.Alsofirmware upgrades gave it DOLBY TRUE HD & DTS HD.
