i think this is the first jackie chan hong kong production to make it to blu-ray (region A), i hope we see many more. it's coming out april 30:

Accidental Spy is not one of Jackie's best, but still a good movie. I would like to see more of his films on Blu though. But hoepfully not the edited versions like many of the DVDs were.

The anthrax subplot was excised from the US version, i have no idea how Harvey Scissorhands coveredfor it, but given the slice and dice they managed on even asian versions of Drunken Master 2, don't leap before you know what's in there

This is the Hong Kong Blu-ray Disc distributed by Kam & Ronson Entertainment. They are handling the new remastered DVD and Blu-ray Disc release and it is in fact, the original 108min Hong Kong version of the film. Previously, Universe Laser and Video Co. had the rights to this film.

Weinstein's Dragon Dynasty, who has the US & Canadian rights, has no control over the Hong Kong market. In fact, Joy Sales release of the Police Story trilogy includes the original uncut Hong Kong versions of all the films including Police Story III: Supercop.

New Police Story is on Blu-Ray in Germany but it is Region B locked. It does not contain English subtitles but oddly it has English Dubbing.

The German Blu-Ray cover looks exactly like the German DVD cover. I have the 2 Disc German DVD and I love that DVD. My mom bought it for me for Easter '06. She bought it for me because she knows I am a big Jackie Chan fan, she was all like; "It doesn't have English subtitles, but you are the one who is learning German." I've watched it over and over again in Cantonese with German subs.

I can atleast take solace that Jackie Chan did his own dubbing for the English Audio on New Police Story. I find it strange that there's English Audio but no English Subtitles.

The German Blu-ray disc includes a different English dub that does not have Jackie Chan's voice. The German distributor did not have the rights to the same track as the US release, so they had to create a new one.

They didn't create a new dub, they used the original/old english dub.

The transfer is sub-par at best anyway, at most a 2.5, sometimes 3 out of 5.

Wasn't remastered in any way.

Luckily their transfer of the myth was abit better.
