Default Won an auction for a Xbox One X....good 4k player?

Are they good 4k players? I know I previously asked if the series x/PS5 were good and most people said no. I've previously owned an xbox one s and liked its blu ray player so I figure the Xbox One X is fine as well? Also can someone link a good 4k hdmi cable (6ft) as the one I bought doesn't come with cables, thanks!!

Yes, they both play 4K Blu-Rays fine. They don't do HDR 10+ or Dolby Vision though, just standard HDR 10.

That’s gonna mostly be dependent on your display.

Here's an existing thread discussing the Xbox that should provide the info you need.

https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=324098

As far as cables, it's when you get into long distances that the quality of the cable becomes more important.

Monoprice is a good place to buy cables.

So, let me get this right, you're going to ask again until you get an answer you like?

Really odd.

There's no need to start a new thread each time you want to ask something. We have a useful search function above. Thank you very much.

At least he posted in the right forum this time.

OP, we also have a sticky for one-off questions (in this case your questions could go in the thread that I linked).

Not sure whats up with some of you people. A PS5/Series S/X question is different than a XB 1 X question, at least it looks and sounds it to me as they differ. I was simply stating the obvious, I guess I'll find a new forum to post on without jerks. But I do appreciate those who have helped me, and had conversations with me as well. Seeya!

Is it fantastic no. Will it work if you don't have a 4K player now sure, test it see how it goes. If you end up buying a ton of discs then upgrade to a real player. If your just a casual viewer then it is fine. Most people on this forum are enthusiast's who will invest thousands and even tens of thousands into home theater setups. So for most of those people no Xbox is a bad player.

Look, you’re going to get the same sort of reception wherever you go until you learn basic forum etiquette. You can think me a jerk, or you can take something from the criticism and learn to use the search function and have much information appear at ones fingertips. It’s up to you.

The best way to search is use advance search (for the appropriate forum). Chose "title search only" and limit search words to 1 or 2. Use these directions and you should be able to find most threads covering your topic.

I hope that helps

The only console that was a good video player was the PS3.

Everything since is only good for playing a disc in a pinch.

After my X800 died, I used an Xbox S for a year (because it was there).

I basically hated every minute of it, because I was use to a real player.

Modern consoles play movies in janky Apps that are usually glitchy as hell.

It's surprising how bad these systems are for non gaming. Xbox can't stream in anything other than 60 fps. They both can't do DV on disc and the PS5 uses an insane amount of power to do basic streaming.
